One of the most appealing factors of the annual WCOOP is that it offers a little bit of everything, tailoring to the varying preferences of online poker players from all over the world. Event #27 of this year’s WCOOP was no exception as it provided a twist that the previous 26 events did not. In this event ($530 NLHE Triple Shootout), players participated in three single table tournaments, and finishing in second place in any of them meant the player was finished.

The hero of this event, “TheActionKid”, dominated all three tables he played on, outlasting the other 729 players that entered this No Limit Hold’em Triple Shootout event. In just short of 16 hours of play, he took home a cool $76,545 cut of the full $364,500 prize pool. Just barely shy of first was SgtKyle who placed 2nd overall for a total prize of $51,030.

The Final Table was comprised of the following players:

Seat 1: lipster99 5,000
Seat 2 Jorj95 5,000
Seat 3: tictac 5,000
Seat 4: porcelet 5,000
Seat 5: TheActionKid 5,000
Seat 6: WiscoMurray 5,000
Seat 7: SgtKyle 5,000
Seat 8: Rip_Cheese 5,000
Seat 9: ElkY 5,000

PokerStars Pro, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, made the final table and worked his way up to 5th place, where he reached his very own dead end in this event. Fifth place scored him a nice $20,047.50 win. ElkY’s effort in this tournament only added to the huge success he had over the last couple weeks in the 2008 WCOOP. He cashed in $320,000 for a big 2nd place finish in this year’s Event #19, $14,561 for a 14th place finish in Event #20, $10,950 for a 15th place finish in Event #23 and the $8,070 he scored for a 12th place finish in Event #25.

Not much time passed at all until the first player was eliminated from the Final Table. Poker can be grueling at times, especially when you get your money in with the best hand and wind up short. Tictac endured this feeling when he hit a set of fours against eventual 2nd place finisher SgtKyle’s two pair (sixes and fours). Sure enough, a six on the river completed SgtKyle’s much needed full house for the win, sending tictac to the rail.

After the initial elimination, cautious play ensued for the next hour and a half, leading to WiscoMurray’s exit in 8th place. Wisco hit top pair top kicker on the flop with all his chips on the line. ElkY made the call with a set of sixes which was further made better as he hit a full house on the river.

Several moments later porcelet was eliminated after he pushed his small stack all in with pocket sixes. Lipster99 made a snap call with big slick and lady luck awarded him a king on the flop to take porcelet out in 7th place. Porcelet also made the final table of Event #28 later that day!

Further displaying their cautious nature, the remaining six players continued on for another 2 hours without any elimination. During this time there were very few all-ins at all. Then out of nowhere lipster99 exited the scene in 7th place. A few hands later ElkY made his 5th place exit. The very next hand after ElkY’s elimination, Jorj95 was taken out of the tournament.

Lipster99 had all his chips in against SgtKyle’s pocket sevens which made a set on the flop. ElkY had AQ over SgtKyle’s KJ but to no avail, SgtKyle hit a nut flush over ElkY’s two pair. SgtKyle dominated this table and quickly gained chip leader status early on. It wasn’t until heads up play that he would meet his match.

TheActionKid gained a good portion of chips by taking Jorj95 out with pocket sixes against Jorj’s 45suited. Rip_Cheese, who remained under the radar to this point was crippled in a hand vs. TheActionKid, and taken out only a couple minutes later by SgtKyle. This left SgtKyle (33,708 chips) and TheActionKid(11,202 chips) to battle it out for first place.

TheActionKid turned the tables around in a much needed hand with top pair against SgtKyle’s missed straight flush draw. As quickly as the last four players left, the tournament was over as TheActionKid won it over with quad eights. It was a grand finale of a finish for this Event #27 – A challenging, nail biting tournament indeed.

WCOOP Event #27: $530 No-Limit Hold ‘Em Triple Shootout:

1. TheActionKid $76,545.00
2. SgtKyle $51,030.00
3. Rip_Cheese $36,450.00
4. Jorj95 $27,337.50
5. ElkY $20,047.50
6. lipster99 $14,580.00
7. porcelet $10,206.00
8. WiscoMurray $6,561.00
9. tictac $3,645.00

It was only fitting that the richest online tournament series of all time finished off with the richest online tournament prize pool of all time. There have been few online events, if any, that were more anticipated than the WCOOP 2008 Main Event, a $5,200 No Limit Holdem event. With $10 Million guaranteed, the best and the brightest came out from all over the world in search of a massive million-dollar payday. The event even eclipsed its guarantee, which surprised quite a few people due to the size of the buy-in. 2,185 players started, creating a final prize pool of $10,925,000. One of our very own FlopTurnRiver.com members, gabe (known as gp333 on PokerStars), went quite deep. He busted just short of the money in 344th place (324 people cashed). The players who were lucky enough to make it through Day 1 played a 12-hour day on Sunday and then started up again at 4:30 PM on Monday. The final 60 players re-drew for seats and started what would become a very memorable day for quite a few of the players still involved.

Countless notable players fell by the wayside in their quest for the final table. Alex Kostritsyn (otherwise known as “august35”) came into the day as a substantial chip leader, but finished in 23rd for $22,942.50, which must have been quite the disappointment. ElkY continued his terrific 2008 WCOOP, cashing in his 7th tournament, but ultimately falling short in 21st for $22,942.50 as well. Christian Harder aka “charder30” was the final table bubble boy, busting out in 10th for $87,400.

After the dust settled, nine players remained. Two known tournament pros, AJKHoosier1 and ckingusc, were among the remaining players when the final table was created. Here were the starting stacks:

1. Liberace – 13,111,107 chips
2. Markush13 – 11,433,207 chips
3. ckingusc – 8,056,086 chips
4. ShoesRDurrty – 6,547,232 chips
5. klslcz – 4,828,175 chips
6. AJKHoosier1 – 3,700,250 chips
7. BOLLPOKER – 3,310,739 chips
8. Sumpas – 2,959,856 chips
9. kovi99 – 561,348 chips

With the blinds all the way up to 65,000/130,000 with a 13,000 ante, it was clear that kovi99 was in a great deal of trouble. Unable to overcome the uphill odds, kovi99 finished in 9th place for $121,267.50 after getting it all in on a king high flop with AJ against Markush13’s K7s.

The next elimination would take no time at all, as BOLLPOKER found himself down to 1.3 million and pushed with pocket threes. He was called by ckingusc, who held AQ. The 59J flop was a good one for BOLLPOKER, but the king of hearts on the turn opened up another door for ckingusc. Sure enough, the river produced a ten, giving ckingusc the nuts, and BOLLPOKER was eliminated in 8th place for $196,650.

Klslcz would be the next to exit, and did so in a disgusting fashion. With the blinds up to 80,000/160,000 with a 16,000 ante, klslcz made it 420,000 to go under the gun. Everyone folded, except Markush13 who reraised to 1,300,999, and klslcz called. The flop came down Q99, rainbow. Markush13 bet 1,899,999, which was met by an all-in shove by klslcz for nearly 3 million more. Markush13 snap-called with pocket kings, but was dismayed to see that klslcz had pocket aces. The turn was the 8 of clubs, whittling away Markush13’s odds. However, the miracle king arrived on the river, and klslcz was the victim of a huge bad beat, finishing in 7th place for $305,900.

The hits kept coming at this final table. Ckingusc raised 404,000 preflop and was called by liberace in the cut-off. Sumpas decided to squeeze and moved all-in for over 4.7 million, and ckingusc folded. Liberace, however, called with AK, and he dominated Sumpas’s AQ. The TT3 flop opened up some chop outs, but the 8 and J on the turn were no good, as Sumpas departed in 6th place for $415,150.

At this point, the final five players began to talk about chopping. The chip chop initially gave AJKHoosier1 $672,542, but AJKHoosier1 managed to convince the other players to increase his cash amount, and he went on to lock up $782,542. Here were the chop numbers, with $200,000 on the side for the winner.

1. liberace – $1,375,249
2. ckingusc – $1,065,432
3. Markush13 – $961,718
4. ShoesRDurrty – $801,153
5. AJKHoosier1 – $782,542

Despite the money being chopped five ways, both liberace and ckingusc were able to guarantee themselves million dollar paydays. With that, the cards were back up in the air (or back on the screen, I suppose), as there was still the matter of $200,000 and a WCOOP bracelet to take care of. Soon after the chop, AJKHoosier1 got it in good with 77 against the 22 of ShoesRDurrty, crippling ShoesRDurrty in the process. ShoesRDurrty couldn’t come back, as he got it in shortly after with 33 against ckingusc’s QQ, and he finished in 5th place, banking a cool $801,153.

Markush13 would be the next to bust, doing so in the biggest pot of the tournament thus far. The blinds were up to 100,000/200,000 with a 20,000 ante. Liberace made it 600,000 to go, and he was reraised to 1.8 million by Markush13. Liberace called and the flop came Q99 with two spades. Both players checked. The turn was the 6 of diamonds, which prompted Markush13 to bet 2.33 million. Liberace called. The river was the 7 of hearts, and Markush13 moved in for his remaining 9.31 million in chips. Liberace called, much to Markush13’s dismay, as Markush13 only had AT for the bluff. Liberace held the 8T of hearts, good for the rivered straight, and Markush13 was out in 4th place for $961,718.

After Markush13 busted, things began to go downhill for AJKHoosier1. First he doubled up ckingusc, and then he was finally eliminated by ckingusc. AJKHoosier1 got it all in with A7 against ckingusc’s pocket nines, but he couldn’t hit his 3-outer. He finished in 3rd place for $782,542.

As heads-up began, ckingusc was down 20 million to liberace’s 34.5 million. However, it didn’t take long for ckingusc to strike. With the blinds up to 125,000/250,000 with a 25,000 ante, liberace made it 500,000 to go from the button. Ckingusc called for the extra 250,000, and the flop came 837 with two diamonds. Ckingusc checked, and liberace bet 1,000,000. Ckingusc reraised to 3,000,000, liberace pushed, and ckingusc to called all-in for his remaining 16,933,621. Ckingusc had KJ of diamonds, good for overcards and the flush draw, and liberace held Q7 for middle pair. If you are wondering, ckingusc was the small favorite on this flop. Ckingusc’s lead got a lot bigger on the turn when the king of clubs came out, and then a diamond came on the river, completing ckingusc’s flush. Ckingusc doubled up to nearly 41 million, leaving liberace with 14 million.

The finale would come just two minutes later. Ckingusc raised to 600,000 from the button, and liberace reraised to 1,500,000. Ckingusc came over the top, putting liberace all-in for his final 13 million. Liberace made the call with KJ of diamonds, which was in relatively good shape against ckingusc’s A8 of clubs. The flop came AKT rainbow. The four of clubs came on the turn, which was bad news for liberace. The 9 of diamonds on the river finished it off, making ckingusc the winner of the 2008 WCOOP Main Event! Ckingusc outlasted a stacked field, came in as a short stack on Day 2, and came back to win it all for a $1,265,432 payday. He also, of course, won a WCOOP bracelet. Don’t feel too bad for liberace, though – he actually took him the biggest cash of $1,375,249.

Here were the final payouts from the WCOOP Main Event’s final table:

1. ckingusc -$1,265,432
2. Liberace – $1,375,249
3. AJKHoosier1 – $782,542
4. Markush13 – $961,718
5. ShoesRDurrty – $801,153
6. Sumpas – $415,150
7. klslcz – $305,900
8. BOLLPOKER – $196,650
9. kovi99 – $121,267

Event #30 of this years bumper WCOOP was one for the Omaha purists. Although there has been a healthy selection throughout the series, this was the first Omaha event that came with no added extras. Merely a simple Pot Limit tournament that was sure to separate the fish from the sharks in the Omaha ocean.

The entry fee came in at the higher end of the WCOOP’s price range, outside of the marquee events, at $1000 + $50. While that may have put some players off the promise of $500,000 added to the prize pool may have soon changed their minds; a field of 742 runners seems to suggest that it did. The players bumping the prize pool up to a total of $742,000.

Of all the Team PokerStars pros who sat down at their computers for event #30, the one who drew the most focus was former World Champion Greg Raymer. Already the proud owner of a WCOOP Omaha bracelet, from last years event #6, he was on the lookout for more silverware. His day may have started well, but alas it was not to be. His two pair all-in against an opponents set meant that he was eliminated in 118th place – a meagre 10 spots from the money.

Joining him at the virtual felt were a host of other Team PokerStars members including: Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Rousso Steve Paul-Ambrose, Andre Akkari, Vicky Coren, Isabelle Mercier and Marcin Horecki. Of this troupe four would break the money bubble (Akkari, Paul-Ambrose, Horecki and Mercier), with Isabelle the highest professional finisher. Mercier, who has 6 WSOP cashes to her name as well as a victory in the 2004 WPT Ladies’ Night tournament, ended her night in 42nd place.

The dubious honor of being the final table bubble went to GRinDer444, who got his last few chips in the middle against the already pot committed salamandra24. GRinDer444 looked to be on top when the flop came, his pocket 5′s finding a match on the flop to give him a set, ahead of salamandra24′s J-T two pair. However the turn would not be so kind, a T fell to give both players a full house – but with salamandra24′s Tens full of Jacks well ahead of GRinDer444 and his Fives full of Tens. Only the case five could prevent his elimination and, predictably, it was nowhere to be found.

The chip stacks going into the final table were:

Seat 1: potstabber10 618,172
Seat 2: salamandra24 743,997
Seat 3: styroben33 59,647
Seat 4: iggymcfly 1,420,506
Seat 5: phatman 410,925
Seat 6: Skjervøy 123,211
Seat 7: DAVIDOXXX 994,129
Seat 8: Tmay420 447,265
Seat 9: u_dirty_dog 747,148

Styroben33 entered the final table with less than half the number of chips of his nearest opponent, so it was no surprise to see him exit the table first. All in with K-Q-2-K he was called by potstabber with 8-4-6-4. A flop full of rags suited potstabber just fine, as the 5-7-9 on the board gave him a straight and brought an end to styroben33′s tournament.

This left Skjervøy as the shortest stack at the table, and it was not long before he followed in the footsteps of his predecessor. DAVIDOXXX put in a raise pre-flop to force out potstabber and tempt in Skjervøy. The flop of Q-4-6 seemed to suit them both, as DAVIDOXXX shoved his sizable chip stack in the middle, closely followed by Skjervøy’s more modest total. Skjervøy may have been less happy with the board once he revealed his pair of Queens, only to discover that DAVIDOXXX was holding not only a pair of Queens, but also a pair of sixes. The remaining cards failed to hit anyone and Skjervøy was eliminated in 8th.

Having entered the final table second in chips, and with an knock-out already under his belt, you might have expected DAVIDOXXX to be making inroads towards the coveted WCOOP bracelet. However in the hands following his elimination of Skjervøy he squandered his chips and soon found himself with a less than reputable chip stack. In a contest against iggymcfly, the table chipleader, he found himself all in pre-flop with Jd-Ad-9s-Kd against Ks-Kh-5s-3d. The flop landed in iggy’s favour, Kc-Qd-5d giving him two pair. DAVIDOXXX’s hopes rested on a diamond flush draw and two hearts on the turn and river meant that his tournament was over in 7th place.

Next to head to the rail was Tmay420, after a nasty suck out scuppered his chances of any WCOOP silverware. He looked to be well ahead of u_dirty_dog with a set of aces, after he drew his opponent into making the all-in bet on the flop. However u_dirty_dog hit a backbreaking runner-runner backdoor heart flush to send Tmay420 home in 6th place.

After beginning at a respectable pace the table now entered a period of relative calm. This, however, proved only to be the eye of the hurricane, with the next big pot triggering a landslide. Iggymcfly, had valiantly held onto the chip lead for most of the final table, but it was finally wrestled away from him by u_dirty_dog. All in on the flop, dog’s set of 8′s held up against the open ended and double gutshot straight draws of iggymcfly. This mammoth pot left u_dirty_dog with more than double the chips of his closest opponent.

Shortly after this iggymcfly was involved in another momentous hand. The flop arrived showing 2d-Ts-Jh and both iggy and phatman put all the money in the middle. Phatman could only muster a open ended straight draw, behind to iggy’s pair of Jacks. The turn and river missed both players and phatman had played his last hand, exiting in 5th.

Most players would have had enough excitement at this point, but not iggymcfly. This time he faced off against potstabber10, who was all-in on the flop with Ac-Ad-7d-Tc against iggy’s Qs-7h-8h-Js. The flop read 3h-5h-4c, leaving potstabber’s pocket AA at the head of the pack. However a heart on the turn brought iggy the flush he had been searching for and ended potstabber10′s night in 4th place.

With only three players remaining a deal looked on the cards as players entered discussions. Two of the three were happy to split the money according to chip stacks, leaving $10,000 and the bracelet still to play for. Iggymcfly, however, wasn’t ready to let things finish that smoothly. Insisting that he had an edge over the other two players he demanded more money than his chip stack warranted. Eventually a compromise was reached as u_dirty_dog graciously agreed to give up $2K of his own prize money to satiate iggy’s lust for dollars. The money was split:

u_dirty_dog: $110,000
iggymcfly: $106,203.72
salamandra24′s: $87,291.28

Perhaps it was karma, or perhaps he was just satisfied with his sizable cut of the prize money, but it was iggymcfly who would be eliminated next – losing two out of five hands to salamandra24. In the first salamandra was way ahead with full house against iggy’s QQ second pair, although in the second tussle iggy started with the advantage. All in preflop with A-A-Q-4 and K-K-9-8 for iggy and salamandra respectively, left iggy in a good position. His good work would soon be undone however, a King on the flop left him looking for a recovery which never came.

This left the two heads up combatants with very similar chipstacks:

salamandra24: 2,976,604
u_dirty_dog: 2,588,396

Despite their numerical proximity the bout lasted only 13 minutes. The battle started at pace with salamandra taking down 1,700,000 on one single pot. Rather than sealing the victory for salamandra it was u_dirty_dog who reclaimed the lead ten hands later after he rivered a flush to pull ahead of salamandra’s two pair.

Just when things looked as if they might tip backwards and forwards all night the tournament came to an end with a bang. It all ended with a straightforward race. Salamandra24 made a set on the flop, and was up against the flush and gutshot draws of u_dirty_dog. The draw was dodged successfully, leaving u_dirty_dog down and all but out – with only 24,484 chips. An impossible fight back attempt began after dog doubled up on the next hand, but the blind all in move that followed would be his last play of the night. A high pair enough to give salamandra24 victory in WCOOP event #30.

Final prizes were:

One of the bigger buy-in tournaments, the $10,000+300 HORSE Championship took place this past Saturday. As is the case for most HOSRE events, many of the world’s top poker professional were on hand to display their mastery of five different poker games.

For those unaware, HORSE is an acronym for five fixed-limit poker games

H=Hold’em
Standard Texas Hold’em, where players are dealt two down cards and 5 community cards

O=Omaha Hi/Lo
A split pot Omaha game awarding half of the pot to the best high-hand and the other half to the best low-hand. A “lo” is any 5 differnt cards, 8 or lower, with the Ace counting for both the high and low.

R=Razz
A Stud game where the key is to make the worst 5-card hand possible, the nuts being A-2-3-4-5. Straights and flushes do not count against a player, and the Ace is the lowest card in the deck. A round of betting occurs after 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th street.

S=7-Card-Stud
Standard 7 Card Stud, players are dealt 2 down cards, then 4 “up” cards, and then one final down card. Betting structure is the same as Razz.

E=7-Card-Stud Hi/Lo
A split pot Stud game awarding half of the pot to the best high-hand and the other half to the best low-hand. A “lo” is any 5 differnt cards, 8 or lower, with the Ace counting for both the high and low. Betting structure is the same as Razz and 7-Card-Stud.

Each table plays 8-handed and the games are moved through this rotation based on time/blind levels.

The tournament attracted only 125 participants, which easily surpassed the $500,000 guarantee and created a prizepool of $1,250,000 with $287,500 going to the winner.

Per usual in a WCOOP event, there were many PokerStars pros on hand. Andre “aakkari” Akkari, Humberto “Humberto B” Brenes, Lee “LeeNelsonP*” Nelson, and most notably, Joseph “JoeHachem”Hachem and Greg “Fossilman”Raymen, two past WSOP Main Event Champions were on hand. There was also a large turnout from the online pro contingent. Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis, “djk123″, “Empire2000″, and “THAY3R” were some of the notable high-stakes MTT and Cash game players who made deep runs in the small field. FTP Pro Pearljammer, and MTT-Pro Andy McLEOD were on hand, but neither finished in the money.

A few big names would fall wayside just before the last 8 players reached the final table. Humberto Brenes, MrSmokey1, and Empire2000 would go out in 13th, 12th, and 10 respectively. Billirakis, at a very young age, has already won a WSOP-bracelet in a Mixed-Hold’em event. Empire2000 is one of the most notable online cash game grinders, typically playing $10/$20NL and higher. Brenes, who is known for his antics at the live table, must not have been able to get into his opponent’s heads as easily in an online tournament. There has been no report as to if he was seen holding a small rubber shark and slamming it into his computer screen.

Once the final table was set, it was time for 8 players to vie for $287,500 and the WCOOP Bracelet. This is how the chip stacks looked entering the final table:

1. aakkari 617,843
2. djk123 567,371
3. gipsy74 502,182
4. crazyjanie 435,921
5. DocHolatchya 373,246
6. pumped4good 235,588
7. 7CardRyon 204,951
8. pycb 187,898

PokerStars Pro aakkari held a slight chip-lead over high-stakes NL/PLO Cash Game specialist, djk123. Djk123 is known from playing NL Hold’em and PLO as high as $25/$50 blinds on PokerStars.

The first elimination of the night came during the often-irrating came of 7-Card Razz. The option of this game is to make the worst poker hand possible! Straights do not count against a player and the Ace is low so everyone is shooting to make the “Wheel” or A-2-3-4-5. First to go was “gypsy74″ who was short-stacked and forced to go all-in after starting with three cards to a nine, 9d6s4s. However, he was unfortunate to find himself in a tough spot against “DocHolatchya” who had three cards to a wheel, 2d5dAs. Gypsy74 would eventualy make a King-high low and it was no match for his competitor’s 8-5 low. He was knocked out in 8th place, earning $38,750.

Same game, same player, same result as DocHolatchya took out another opponent just hands later in Razz. Approriately-named “7CardRyon” was the next to go, after getting all of his money in on fifth street holding 2h7d6c4c4d against DocHolatchya who held 8d3hAd3c7s. Remember about the “irritation” or Razz? Well 7CardRyon felt it’s wrath as his board ran out TdKc against the 6d3s of DocHolatchya. Ryon held a slight lead when the money went in, but by the end of the hand he was out in 7th place, earning himself $46,875.

DocHolatchya was probably unhappy to see the game turn to 7Card-Stud after his Razz success, but he was probably ecstatic to see one of the more seasoned Pro’s, djk123, eliminated in 6th place. This time it was “crazyjanie” doing thie bidding. After 3rd street was dealt crazyjanie was in a great positon, holding AhKhKs against djk123′s 9s5sJs. The best card in the deck, the As, fell for djk123 on 4th street but he had to agonize over the final 3 cards bricking out, leaving him with out any chips and a 6th place finshing netting $59,375.

A few players who had stayed out of the action finally got involved as “pumped4good” fell victim to “pycb” who had started the final table as the short-stack. While most of the money went in on 4th street, the final bets go in on fifth with pycb holding 6h8hThAh5s against pumped4good’s TdTc6d2d4h. Pcyb was unable to make his flush; however, the 9s and 7d were good enough to make him a straight, and take out pumped4good whose pair of Tens never improved. A fifth place finish, $75,000, and hopefully a good night’s rest awaits him.

After some huge pots were exchanged the players went into a final break, DocHolatchya had been able to win some massive pots and opened up quite a nice chip lead.

4-handed chip counts:

1. DocHolatchya 1,433,961
2. aakkari 912,454
3. crazyjanie 544,311
4. pycb 234,274

Aakari would leave his mark on the final table, taking out pycb in 4th. Playing a round of Limit Hold’em the two players would exchange a series of bets and raises, eventually getting all of their money in on a board reading 5d5c3dAs, with pycb holding 4h4d and aakari having turned top-pair with AdQc. Most of the money had gone in PF and on the flop, wiht pycb’s last 35k or so going in on the nasty As turn card. The river would brick and pycb would go home in fourth, earning $112,500 for a long days work.

Aakari would continue to dominate during the Hold’em round and surge into the chip lead past DocHolatchya. Aakari would be the first to reach the 2 million chip mark, leaving crazyjanie and DocHolatchya seemingly battling for 2nd and 3rd.

That battle would soon be lost, and crazyjanie would bust in 3rd during the Omaha Hi/Lo round. After beeing whittled down to only a few BB’s, crazyjanie was forced to get his/her money in the middle holding 3hJsJc6s against DocHolatchya’s 4h9s6c2h. The flop fell 3d7d2d which gave DocHolatchya a low, which is good for half of the pot in this game. The turn fell the Jd, giving crazyjanie a set of jacks, he/she would only have to avoid a 5 on the river to stay alive. Unfortunately for crazyjanie that is precisely what fell, the 5c made DocHolatchya a straight and a low and elimated crazyjanie in 3rd place. The $150,000 is, however, a nice consolation prize.

Going into the HU battle aakari had a commanding chip lead of more than 3:1

1. aakkari 2,390,478
2. DocHolatchya 734,522

However, immediately as HU play began DocHolatchya went on a tear, winning 9 of the first 12 pot, giving him the chip lead by a slim margin of 1.7 million to aakari’s 1.3 million. In a long and drawn-out battle, aakari would eventually be worn down to his last 287k chips. In a round of Stud he got all of his money in on 6th street with 7c7s6h2sAhJs which was behind the KsTs9s8d4hKd of DocHolatchya. Unfortunately for the Team PokerStars member, the 4c offered no help and he was out in 2nd place, earning $200,000 for his time.

Congratulations to DocHolatchya and all the other participants who made the money in WCOOP Event #32!!!

The World Championship of Online Poker’s Event 29 proved to be a huge success this past Friday. The 6-max, No-Limit Texas Hold’em rebuy event pulled 852 players for a total of 1,011 rebuys and 658 add-ons. With the buy-in at $530, the prize pool far exceeded the $400,000 guarantee. It hit a whopping $1,260,500. The top 132 players landed in the money, but only one was lucky enough to walk away with the bracelet. PiKappRaider, of the United States, claimed the victory and took $211,133.76 in winnings.

Many Team PokerStars Pros showed up for this event. Andre Akkari, Noah Boeken, Humberto Brenes, Chad Brown, Bill Chen, Vicky Coren, Alexandre Gomes, Gavin Griffin, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, Joe Hachem, Hevad Khan, Alex Kravchenko, Tom McEvoy, Dario Minieri, Chris Moneymaker, Lee Nelson, Luca Pagano, Steve Paul-Ambrose, Raymond Rahme, Victor Ramdin, Greg Raymer, Vanessa Rousso, and Katja Thater all wanted a slice of the action. Only Boeken and ElkY made it to the money.

Here’s the starting line-up for the final table:
Seat 1: grunter321 1,247,525
Seat 2: AceOfSpade11 3,212,254
Seat 3: DuckU 3,000,127
Seat 4: PiKappRaider 2,442,144
Seat 5: isuckoutonu 1,305,742
Seat 6: Roothlus 1,508,208

The first one to hit the rail was Roothlus. PiKappRaider called Roothlus’s all-in move and it was pocket queens versus pocket jacks, respectively. With 7d-As-3d-4c-Ks on the board, Roothlus was out of luck and settled for sixth place. A half hour later, grunter321 was next. Again, pocket jacks couldn’t do the trick. AceOfSpade11 held pocket kings, and the board cards Tc-3d-2h-8d-Qh couldn’t save grunter321. He left Event 29 holding fifth place. The next battle was between isuckoutonu and short stack DuckU. Both players hit a pair of aces when the flop fell 3h-7c-2d-6c-Ac, but DuckU’s king was just a notch higher than isuckoutonu’s kicker. Isuckoutonu got fourth place and DuckU, the Event 5 second place finisher, moved on to the final three.

At this point, the clock was stopped to discuss a potential deal. DuckU, though still the short stack, kept insisting on receiving second place prize money or else he wouldn’t agree to a deal. Ultimately, no deal was made and the three continued.

PiKappRaider charged to the chip lead and made it clear that he was taking this tournament down. DuckU remained the weaker stack and when he landed pocket fives, he made his move and shoved all-in. He was up against chip leader PiKappRaider who had pocket eights. DuckU must have been praying for another five, but it didn’t show up. Instead the board showed Ad-6s-3c-Ks-Ts. DuckU finished in third place.

PiKappRaider and AceOfSpade11 entered heads-up play. PiKappRaider had 8,456,478 chips, nearly double of AceOfSpade11′s 4,259,522. AceOfSpade11 had to endure fifteen minutes of rough play before he was able to make a move. With Jh-Th in hand, AceOfSpade11 raised to 120,000 pre-flop and PiKappRaider called. The flop rolled out Jd-7c-9s. AceOfSpade11 then raised to 180,000, which PiKappRaider quickly check raised to 480,000. AceOfSpade11 then pushed all-in. PiKappRaider called and the cards were shown – Js-9h. PiKappRaider had hit two pair on the flop, putting him as the favorite. A turn of 5s and a river of As proved to be no help for AceOfSpade11. PiKappRaider took first place, the bracelet, and $211,133.76 in prize money. AceOfSpade11 took second place and a nice $157,562.51.

Six max games are aggressive by nature. Make it a tournament, factor in over $152,000 for first, and the game gets downright nasty. That’s exactly what happened in WCOOP Event 26, a $320 NLHE six-max event. 3,273 players came out, taking the original $500,000 guaranteed prize pool all the way up to $981,900! This created two six figure payouts – first prize was $152,194.51, and second place was $110,954.71.

The action was fast and furious to the bitter end, with top notch players such as Sowerss and ender555 just missing the final table in 8th and 14th respectively, cashing for $10,800.91 and $6,382.36.

As for the final table itself, here is how the stacks looked at the start:

1. rubenrtv – 4,351,507 chips
2. tRaMp$d0PrAy – 2,881,644 chips
3. HT-Max – 2,516,269 chips
4. dorinvandy – 1,697,266 chips
5. MCLegend – 1,241,713 chips
6. BB_ShiNing – 403,601 chips

Also, here’s what they were playing for:

1. $152,194.51
2. $110,594.71
3. $81,497.71
4. $52,040.71
5. $31,499.36
6. $17,183.26

Dorinvandy has already had a truly amazing WCOOP, winning the $10,000 High Rollers event for a staggering $617,925. With the blinds still at 10,000/20,000 with a 2,000 ante, his 4th place stack was still firmly in the hunt for another six-figure WCOOP cash. Only BB_ShiNing was any immediate trouble, and with 20 big blinds, he still had time to make a move. He may have made his move a little too soon, however getting it in preflop with A4 against tRaMp$d0PrAy’s AK. No fours came to save him, and the final table had its first elimination just thirteen minutes in. BB_ShiNing busted in 6th place, earning 7,183.26 for his efforts.

Twenty minutes later, the final table saw another elimination. The blinds had escalated to 15,000/30,000 with a 3,000 ante, and the action folded to dorinvandy on the button. He made it 70,000 to go, which was met by a re-raise to 208,225 by the chip leader, rubenrtv. Dorinvandy moved all in nearly 1.4 million, and rubenrtv snap called. Rubenrtv held pocket kings, and Dorinvandy’s sevens were dominated. The Q8825 board offered no help, and he bowed out in 5th place for $31,499.36.

The four remaining players then paused the tournament to discuss a chop for the remaining prize pool. It took some time, but here’s what they settled on:

1. rubenrtv: $125,687.64
2. HT-Max: $92,000
3. MCLegend: $84,500
4. tRaMp$d0PrAy: $84,500

This left $10,000 to play for and, of course, the WCOOP bracelet. Not soon after the chop, tRaMp$d0PrAy got it in with pocket jacks against rubenrtv’s pocket nines. The Q98 all diamond flop was an exciting one, as rubenrtv flopped middle set and tRaMp$d0PrAy had a flush draw with a gutshot. However, the four of spades, and eight of hearts were far from what tRaMp$d0PrAy needed, and he finished in 4th place.

The blinds continued their ascent as they moved up to 20,000/40,000 with a 4,000 ante. rubenrtv held over half the chips in play, with nearly 8 million chips in his stack. HT-Max was hovering slightly above 3 million, while MCLegend was the short stack with 2.2 million.

rubenrtv had taken control of the final table, and HT-Max finally decided to take a stand against him. He got it all-in with AJ against rubenrtv’s pocket sixes, but he lost the flip and finished in 3rd place.

Heads up began with rubenrtv holding a sizable chiplead over MCLegend, with rubenrtv with nearly 11 million to MCLegend’s 2.2 million. However, while 6-max play can be volatile, heads-up play can be downright insane! This was quickly shown by the fact the two players more or less flip flopped spots in no time at all, with MCLegend holding 11.6 million, and rubenrtv all the way down to 1.4 million.

Continuing the swingy heads-up match, within 20 minutes, rubenrtv was once again the chip leader, with 9.5 million to MCLegend’s 3.5 million. It didn’t take long after that for the final hand to occur. rubenrtv held QT on a 7JKA board, good for the nut straight. MCLegend made a play on the turn but unfortunately ran into the nuts, and he finished in 2nd place for $92,000.

Congratulations to rubenrtv for winning WCOOP Event 26! He was up and down during that heads-up match, but he ultimately finished up, taking home the bracelet and $135,687.64.

748 of thew world’s biggest gamblers sat down for WCOOP Event #25, the $320-rebuy Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. Plenty of big names were on hand as PLO is steadily becoming the game of choice in high-stake circles. A large contingent of Team PokerStars Pros played in the event, including WSOP Main Event winners Greg Raymer and Chris Moneymaker and WSOP Bracelet winners Gavin Griffin and Dario Minieri. Many big name online MTT-Pros and PLO pros alike such as “shaundeeb” “Johnnybax” and “Pwnasaurus” all made deep runs.

Rebuy tournaments offer an interesting change in dynamic to tournament play. Players do not have to worry about busting in any single hand if they are willing to purchase more chis for, in this tournament’s case, $300. Couple this fact with the volatilty of PLO and you are sure to have many rebuys and a prizepool well over the $500,000 guarantee. In the end the 748 entrants would rebuy 1254 times and over 560 players would use the optional add-on option at the end of the rebuy period. All in all this created a large prize-pool of $768,000 with just over $144,000 going to the winner.

Many of the big names would fall before reaching the final table, Chris Moneymaker just made the money, finishing 105th. PokerStars Pro Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier finished12th and “pwnasaurus” finished 11th, just two spots off of the final table. Each player took home just over $8,000 for their efforts.

Coming into the final table with a sizeable chiplead was Shaun “shaundeeb” Deeb. Deeb is not directly related to fellow pro Freddy Deeb, although he does get that question quite a bit. “TheNew”, who just recently made our Sunday Tournament Report after winning theSunday $109r for over $67,000, entered the final table 4th in chips.

Final table stacks and seating assignments:

Seat 1: kAmIkAdZeEe 670,834
Seat 2: Canuck 235,351
Seat 3: ely_cash41 1,832,522
Seat 4: caprioli 328,265
Seat 5: TheNew 1,269,061
Seat 6: MiniKipDK 1,402,832
Seat 7: JohnnyBax 555,570
Seat 8: Miraclos 487,737
Seat 9: shaundeeb 2,583,828

It would be a short final-table experience for JohnnyBax, as he was the first player to be eliminated. JohhnyBax is one of the world’s best MTT-player and has won millions of dollars playing large buy-in tournaments both live and online. He has won the both the $215r and $109r on PokerStars as well as many other deep runs in $100+ buy-in tournaments. Soon after losing a big pot he would get the last of his chips in with JJ33 against Deeb’s Jd7dTc2c. In regular Omaha fashion the “run-down” hand of Deeb was able to do just that, as the board came 8sAd9dTh9s. Deeb was actually a large favorite on the flop with a variety of straight draws and a flush draw. JohnnyBax would take home nearly $11,000 for his deep run.

Next to go was “ely_cash41″, who just as JohnnyBax did, fell victim to Deeb when his As7d5c3s was no match of Deeb’s AdQd9s6d even after a flop of AhKs7s once the turn and river fell 6h-6c to make Deeb a full house. The 8th place finished earned “ely_cash41″ $17,293. Deeb was starting to amass a dominating chip lead, one which the MTT-Pro would be hardpressed to relinquish.

Up next for Deeb to eliminate was “caprioli”. Deeb opened from EP and was forced to call caprioli’s all-in for just over 325k chips. Deeb held AJ45 while caprioli had a naked pair of KK92. The flop came 6c3d2h and caprioli was all but drawing dead. The Tc on the turn sealed his fate and he received just under $25,000 for his 7th pace effort. That’s 3-for-3 in elimantions for Deeb for those who are counting.

Actually, make it 4-for-4. Shortstacked and with out much to work with, “Miraclos” made a stand with AcQsJcTs, an absolutely huge hand in PLO standards. Deeb “woke up” with KdTc7h5d and when the board fell 6c3d8s4d5s Deeb would make a straight on the turn and eliminate Miraclos in 6th, good enough for just over $32,000. That’s 4 eliminations, all at the hands of Shaun Deeb.

Well, make that five. “kAmIkAdZeEe” has been having internet trouble for most of the final table, and it eventually caught up with him. It must be frustrating to make it so far yet to have an internet connection cost you a chance at $144,000 and a WCOOP bracelet. After beeing whittled down kAmIkAdZeEs had to go all-in with AhQd8h7c against Deeb’s Tc8d6c5s after the board fell KdTh4d2dKs. Unable to make a pair, he was sent to the rail in 5th place, earning just over $40,000 for a hard days work. That’s five eliminations in a row at the final table by Deeb.

Well, make that si…..OH WAIT, someone else has entered a pot! “Canuck” and “TheNew” squared off in a large pot, with TheNew’s two pair outlasting Canucks pair of aces and straight draw. Canucked took home nearly $58,000 for his fourth place finish. Finally an elimination not at the hands on Shuandeeb.

Deeb would get back on the perverbial horse a half-hour later taking out “MiniKipDK” in 3rd place. Shaundeeb was fortunate enough to be in the enviable position in PLO called “freerolling”. This is where two players get all of their money in the middle with the same hand but one of the two players (or both sometimes) have a draw to an ever better hand, therefore they can only win or tie, and cannot lose. On a Ad9s4c flop both players had Aces-up with Deeb holding AhQs9h3c and Mini holding As9d8h6s. Deeb would need to pair his Queen to win the pot, and although it was about an 8:1 shot, Deeb was certainly up to the task today, finding the Qc on the river to scoop the pot and send MiniKipDK on his way with a $76,860 payday.

Deeb entered heads-up play with a 5:1 chip-lead but would actually lose the chiplead to “TheNew” at one point in the match. Eventually he would comeback and the two would play a massive pot. With about 6 million in chips to TheNew’s 3 million both players would get all of their money in on a flop os Ks7d8s with Deeb holding 6s7s8d9d, a huge drawing hand versus TheNew’s Qs4sJsKc. TheNew had top pair and a flush draw while Deeb had bottom two, an open-ended straight draw, and a worse flush draw. In typical PLO fashion, the flop was basically a coinflip, TheNew was a 50.1% favorite to win the pot. The turn came the 3c and the river the 5h giving Deeb a straight and the WCOOP bracelet. TheNew would have to settle for 2nd place and just over $103,000 while Deeb took home the crown and $144,122.

Deeb is no stranger to success in big events, he already has a FTOPS title to his name, and now he adds a WCOOP Bracelet. This is Deeb’s 3rd 6figure+ cash online, having won the FTOPS event in August and the Sunday Warm-up on Pokerstars this past May. He is currently ranked at the 6th best online-MTT player.

Congratulations goes to Deeb and all of those making the money in WCOOP Event #25:

Event #23 in the Poker Stars World Championship of Online Poker was a $530 buyin NL Hold’em tournament offering the option of one rebuy during the first hour, and one add-on during the first break. The enthusiasm for this format was apparent, with 1,159 players as the event kicked off. After 807 rebuys, and 954 add-ons, the prize pool of $1.46 million far exceeded the guarantee of $500K.

After nearly 18 hours of play, ddrufnek ended up as the winner, taking home $192,902 and a WCOOP bracelet. With the additional chips in play from the rebuys and add-ons, it took over 15 hours to whittle down the field to the final nine. The wait for the final table was impacted by the disconnection of one player, ILAN17, as play was proceeding hand-for-hand on the final table bubble. After running through his time bank, he still had 15 seconds to act on each hand before timing out, a situation that caused frustration among the other players.

ILAN17 eventually reconnected and final table play began with eventual winner ddrufnek holding the chip lead.

Starting final table chip counts:

1. ddrufnek 3,121,506
2. luckyuli 2,415,421
3. dinkel 2,374,395
4. MPetes 2,209,210
5. ILAN17 1,753,137
6. imeasy2read 1,052,446
7. 1bigbluffer1 1,041,489
8. MT456 755,921
9. MaxHam 772,475

By the time play reached 4-handed, the remaining players were talking about a deal. After some discussion, they agreed to a chop with the winner taking $210,000 and the remaining three players getting $169,804 each. The deal surprised some onlookers, given the differences in chip counts at the time of the agreement.

chip counts at time deal:

1. ddrufnek 5,938,970
2. luckyuli 4,545,526
3. ILAN17 2,655,138
4. imeasy2read 2,356,366

After ILAN17 was knocked out in 4th, and imeasy2read went out in 3rd place, heads up play began with relatively even chip counts. The two remaining players battled back and forth, and after some time, agreed to a second final table deal. This deal left $10K on the table to the eventual winner, and split the remaining prize pool evenly, giving $182,902 to both players. Not too long afterwards, luckyuli got all in with KJo and ddrufnek’s A7o held up to give him the title.

Event 13 of the World Championship of Online Poker featured one of the most popular events of the series: the $215 rebuy tournament. The popularity of this tournament was reflected in the turnout – 2234 players participated, inflating the prize pool up to $1,278,600, and past its original $1 million guarantee.

As to be expected, some of the very best made their way deep, playing well into the night while doing so. Rami “arbianight” Boukai has been a well-known player in the high stakes games online for quite some time now, and he went deep, busting in 14th place for $7,671.60. Finishing just three places behind him was Zachary “nofingclue11” Clark, coming in at 17th for $5,114.40. Zachary hasn’t been one to draw a lot of attention to himself, much like his late uncle, Chip Reese. However, Zachary definitely deserves a great deal of attention, as he has become a feared player online and live, building his resume with finishes like 3rd place in the recent WPT Legends of Poker (scoring big for $281,645). JohnnyBax was able to outlast 2214 players, but he couldn’t quite make it all the way. He ended up in 20th place, taking home $2,685.06 in the process.

There were still plenty of other big name available for the final table. Josh “nitbuster” Arieh is mostly known for his live play (with his 3rd place finish in the 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event), but he has had plenty of success online, as well. He final tabled last year’s WCOOP Main Event and recently made a deep run in the $10,000 WCOOP Event, as well. Joining him at the final table was BeL0WaB0Ve, who may very well be the hottest player online right now. BeL0WaB0Ve had an amazing August, winning a $100 rebuy on Full Tilt Poker for $34,650, as well as dominating the recent FTOPS series by taking 2nd in a $300 rebuy event, and 4th in a $1,000 event. Those two massive scores totalled to over $270,000 in prize money.

Going into the final table, it was already 5:14 AM EST, and the players had been playing for nearly 15 hours already. Here were the chips counts as the remaining nine players headed into the final table:

1. nitbuster – 4,245,760 chips
2. BeL0WaB0Ve – 2,657,000 chips
3. ACESEDAI – 2,015,663 chips
4. imcastleman – 1,795,958 chips
5. moe32746 – 1,257,246 chips
6. TheKaas – 1,173,020 chips
7. omalos – 1,052,006 chips
8. lrdvoldemort – 981,113 chips
9. Sykoen – 648,214 chips

The blinds were still at 20,000/40,000 with a 4,000 ante, so most of the table still had plenty of time. However, if you’re a regular No Limit Holdem player, you understand that it only takes one hand to change everything.

This was displayed as ACESEDAI’s chance for a WCOOP title quickly wilted away after getting his chips in with KJ on a JT78 board against moe32746, who had ACESEDAI outchipped at the time. Unfortunately for ACESEDAI, he was drawing to a chop as moe32746 held T9, good for the straight. The chop cards didn’t come and ACESEDAI busted in 9th place for $14,192.46. Less than half an hour later, TheKaas followed suit, getting it in with AQ versus lrdvoldemort’s KQ. The flop came a heart-breaking K high, and TheKaas couldn’t improve on the turn or the river. He finished in 8th for $23,014.80.

The bad beats continued as Sykoen got his remaining chips in against imcastleman. Imcastleman was in terrible shape when the cards were shown, holding the A9 of diamonds against Sykoen’s AQ. However, imcastleman was able to spike the nut flush by the river, and sent Sykoen out of the tournament with a bad taste in his mouth. His 7th place finish earned him $35,800.80.

The prolific BeL0WaB0Ve was next to fall. He got into a massive confrontation with nitbuster, finding himself all-in on a K9T flop holding QT of diamonds against nitbuster’s AA. Not only did he have a gutshot straight draw and the five remaining queens and tens, BeL0WaB0Ve also had a flush draw. He unfortunately did not get there, and he busted in what must have been a disappointing 6th place for $48,586.60.

Lrdvoldemort’s good run continued 5-handed, when he was able to eliminate not only one, but two more people. imcastleman and omalos got their short stacks in with 77 and AK respectively, and Lrdvoldemort came along for the ride with QQ. The flop came QK2, all but extinguishing hope for imcastleman and omalos. Although the turn brought omalos some outs, the river did not help and both players busted. imcastleman was out in 5th place for $61,372.80 due to having the shorter stack, and omalos busted in 4th place for $74,158.50.

Nitbuster seemed to dominate the majority of the final table with his aggressive style, but he unfortunately met his demise at the hands of a cooler. It was 3-handed at this point, and he ran his AJ into lrdvoldemort’s stronger AQ. Nitbuster couldn’t catch his 3-outer, and so he finished in 3rd place for an impressive $110,215.32.

Heads-up play took nearly an hour, as lrdvoldemort and moe32746 traded the chip lead several times. Lrdvoldemort was finally able to build a massive chip lead near the end of the hour, holding over 12 million in chips to moe32746’s 3.6 million. The blinds were up to 60,000/120,000 with a 12,000 ante. The players found themselves battling it out on a 559 flop with two clubs and 500,000 in the pot. Moe32746 checked and lrdvoldemort bet 300,000. Moe32746 raised to 786,300, and lrdvoldemort responded with a shove. Moe32746 called all-in with 98, but he was dominated by lrdvoldemort’s 75. Moe32746 wasn’t able to spike a 2-outer, and he finished in second place for a handsome $153,432.

Congratulations to Lrdvoldemort for his triumph in Event 13, where he demonstrated that winning tournaments requires solid play and also plenty of luck. His first place efforts earned him an impressive $207,772.50 and a coveted WCOOP bracelet.

Apologies for the delay as Hurricane Ike has made life difficult for most of us on the Texas Coast-line.

Event 12 of PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker, or WCOOP, took place this past Wednesday, September 10th. The tournament uses a mixed structure, switching from Limit Hold’em to No Limit Hold’em every level and a 6max format for extra action. 1,496 players bought in for $320 creating a total prizepool of nearly $450,000 and nearly $75,000 to the winner. Although the field was small compared to many other WCOOP events it did have a large amount of PokerStars and online MTT pros. Barry Greenstein, Chris Moneymaker, Hevad Khan, Joe Hachem, and Gavin Griffin were just a few of the bigger names to play.

The biggest name making the final table would be Aaron “011180″ Kanter. Aaron is well-known for a deep run in the 2005 WSOP Main Event. Kanter would go on to finish 4th and collect $2,000,000 in prize money. Other well-known poker pro, “Randers” would enter the final table 5th in chips but would be a force to be reckoned with. The MTT-pro has had multiple large cashes in his career, including two wins in the PokerStars $109r for $59,000 and $41,000 respectively.

Here are how the stacks looked entering the final table:

Seat 1: 011180 1,668,745 in chips
Seat 2: Punty 633,017 in chips)
Seat 3: Randers 516,729 in chips
Seat 4: MUHoosh33 1,453,441 in chips
Seat 5: Gorrioncillo 1,251,913 in chips
Seat 6: Snout19 460,155 in chips

Short-stacked “Snout19″ would make a valiant effort, both doubling up and tripling up at the final table. However, it was not to be, as he would eventually have too much ground to make up. Snout was blinded down and eliminated in a 4-way pot, collecting over $14,000 for his efforts.

Next to go would be “Punty” who was unfortunate in running pocket 8′s into the pocket Ten’s of “MUHoosh33″. Punty takes home over $22,000 for a hard days work.

Soon after his last elimination MUHoosh33 was at it again, eliminating “Gorrincillo” in fourth place. After a flop of Tc 2c 6d both players would put in four bets each, and after a bet and a raise on the turn Gorrincillo found himself in rough shape holding KTo against MUHoosh33′s pocket Queens. The river offered no help, and Gorrincillo was out in fourth, earning nearly $31,000 for his efforts.

Unfortunately for MUHoosh33, he would soon find himself on the wrong-end of an elimination, this time falling prey to Randers as his K4s failed to improve against A9o. MUHoosh33 would collect $39,700, which is by far his largest cash in an MTT on PokerStars ever.

Quickly after Heads-Up play began a deal was struck! The two players left $6,000 and the WCOOP bracelet on the table and chopped the rest. Both players seem to know each other well, as Randers, was able to talk Kanter into giving him an even $60,000 if he bought drinks the next time the two hung out. Kanter agreed and took just over $61,000.

With a bit of the drama taken out of the air from the deal all the players had to play for was $6,000 and the WCOOP bracelet. The mood of the tournament certainly lightened with the players chatting about past hands and other key moments.

In the end Randers made a small comeback and took the crown and the additional $6,000 in play. Rander’s A6s beat Kanter’s A5o on a board of 8h 7s 4h Ah 2c, the river bring one of only two cards (3 also) that would avoid a chop. Congratulations to all of those cashing and to Randers for taking home the title.
