Ladbrokes Poker is one of the leading online poker rooms in the world today, especially in the United Kingdom. Poker sites don’t get to be as respected as Ladbrokes unless they do a really good job looking out for their players, and this October the online poker room is reminding everyone that its player-base is their top priority, by hosting a €20,000 Cash Race to reward loyal players. Even if you haven’t signed up with Ladbrokes yet don’t fret, you can still get in on the action.

So what is a cash race? Well to allay some fears right off the bat, there’s no running involved so we can all partake from the comfort of our computer chair. You also don’t have to be a huge winner at online poker to be rewarded by this promotion, as the winner of the race isn’t the person who has earned the most money, but rather just the person who has played the most poker, thereby generating the most Ladbrokes Poker Points. That’s it, simply play as much poker as you can for two weeks and you could find yourself walking away with your share of €20,000.

The only catch is that the higher the stakes you play, the more points you earn. Ladbrokes has found a way to even the playing field somewhat, however, by offering in effect three separate levels of the cash race. Level One is for players playing at 0.10/0.20 and 0.20/0.40, Level Two for players playing at 0.25/0.50 and 0.50/1.00, and finally Level Three is for all stakes 1/2 and above. They’ve also changed up the process slightly, this time requiring players to opt-in to the Cash Race, thereby ensuring that the winners knew they were even competing in the first place. The three separate levels mean that even smaller stakes players have a shot at the cash, and the opt-in requirement is a huge advantage, as it significantly lessens the opposition. Just don’t forget to opt-in!

The prizes of this cash race are, true to the name, straight money which will be paid into your account. The Level 1 race pays out the top twenty finishers, while the Levels 2 and 3 races, which are for slightly higher stakes players, pay all the way out to the 25th place finisher. Full details can be found at the Ladbrokes Poker website, but to give you some idea of what’s up for grabs, if you finish first in the Level 3 race then you’ll be rewarded with a fantastic instant cash prize of €1,500.

So we know that to win the race you have to earn the most Poker Points, but how do you go about earning these in the first place? This month’s promotion is taking place between the 8th and the 21st of October, so during that time you simply need to play on any Texas Hold’em or Omaha tables at the applicable stakes and you’ll automatically be earning Ladbrokes Poker Points. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing Fixed Limit, No Limit or Pot Limit Texas Hold’em and the Omaha can be Hi/Lo or straight Hi, just as long as you’ve got cards and real money chips of any currency in front of you, you’ll be earning points and racing to the cash.

We’re already part-way into this month’s promotion, but there’s still more than enough time to earn your spot on a leaderboard and pick up a little bit of extra cash for the month’s poker!

When poker rooms offer big prize packages, most of the time it’s in the $10,000 – $15,000 range and will include a hotel stay, cash for expenses, and a seat in some kind of main event. Well Ladbrokes the prize package that isn’t all that different in most regards but it does stand out in one way – There will be much bigger money involved in the Ladbrokes’ prize packages.

That’s because Ladbrokes is giving players a chance to win one of the biggest prize packages ever offered in their Chase the Chair promotion. Basically players will be competing for a ridiculously expensive tournament seat in the Poker Million VII event.

The seat that will be given away in the Chase the Chair competition is worth $120,000 as it is a direct Semi-Final berth in the Poker Million VII. By attaining this seat, one player will get the chance to earn the $1,000,000 first place prize. At worst, whoever earns this seat will get $20,000.

In addition to getting this $120,000 Semi-Final seat, the Chase the Chair winner will also get $5,000 for travel expenses, a 5 night hotel stay at the Hilton Metropole in London, 10 Green Room passes for the Semi-Final tables, and 10 passes to the Poker Million VII Live Final Party.

Players who want to earn their shot at the Chase the Chair title need to get into one of the 120 satellites that are being offered. Each satellite winner will then get a $1,000 seat into the “Win the Chair” tournament.

The person who takes first place in the Win the Chair tournament will be the winner of the $120,000 Semi-Final seat and will also the $10,000 in extras that come along with it. In all, there will be a huge $130,000 prize package on the table.

The month of August saw the ladbrokes leaderboards dominated by wildrick as he was able to grab a big lead early and easily hold onto it throughout the month of July. By the end, his lead had been cut down some to 248 points, but it was well ahead of the second place player in SOXxxxxx for the $2,000 prize.

But SOXxxxxx was able to out-distance himself by quite a wide margin from the third place player, drewster33. SOXxxxxx was almost 300 points ahead of drewster33 and won $900 for getting second.

We’re now into a new battle for the leaderboards as August has kicked off and there are already fresh faces challenging players like wildrick and SOXxxxxx for first place. Two of those players are dayg031 and coope3.

Daygo31 is in third place with 196 points right now while coope3 is tied for first place with 200 points. However, the player who is sitting in first with coope3 is a familiar face, SOXxxxxx, who will once again be looking to capture first place as he did in June and May.

So far, wildrick is nowhere to be found near the top of the leaderboards, but there’s still a lot of the month left before things are settled. Here’s how the rest of the top 10 looks:

1. SOXxxxxx 200
1. coope3 200
3. daygo31 196
4. mcescher 179
5. lamujen1 167
6. MrMatski 160
7. martin1967 159
8. 1mark1 154
9. Shakey10 150
10. sads 131

It’s starting to appear as if SOXxxxxx’s two month reign as the Ladbrokes leaderboards champion will be over. That’s because wildrick, who is also a staple at the top of the leaderboards is well ahead of SOXxxxxx going into the final few days of July.

But that lead has dwindled a little since wildrick was ahead by 408 points last week. Now he is ahead by 386 points which is still a pretty comfortable margin with only five days to go.

Cantona2243, who led the leaderboards for a little while earlier in the month, is sitting in third place but will have to hold off GirlWonder who is just 16 points behind. See the action right here.

Here is the top 10 right now:

Rank/Player/Points
1 wildrick 1396
2 SOXxxxxx 1010
3 cantona2243 916
4 GirlWonder 904
5 mitchhh 862
6 Ken0007 834
7 drewster33 831
8 playmaker666 801
9 butch_dk 788
10 snowee 701

It looks like wildrick is definitely cruising towards victory and SOXxxxxx should stay in second but we’ll have to wait and see how everything plays out with places 3-10.

Back in April, wildrick sat atop the Ladbrokes Leaderboards as the monthly overall champion and looked poised to do the same in the month of May. However, SOXxxxxx came along and knocked wildrick off the top and grabbed the $2,000 prize as well.

But now the roles may be reversed as wildrick has taken a commanding lead in the leaderboards race. He now leads his closest competitor by 408 points and this can be seen here.

SOXxxxxx has not been able to stay in second place either as cantona2243 has remained in this position for most of the month. The margin is 715 points to SOXxxxxx’s third place total of 652 points.

4th through 10th place isn’t separated by much at all as snowee currently has 633 points while Madison_dk is in 10th with 546 points. To get a better perspective on how top 10 are doing, here’s the way things look right now:

Rank/Player/Points
1 wildrick 1123.00
2 cantona2243 715.00
3 SOXxxxxx 652.00
4 snowee 633.00
5 Ken0007 614.00
6 butch_dk 610.00
7 rockingham1 572.00
8 1111poker 551.00
9 mitchhh 548.00
10 Madison_dk 546.00

While wildrick is in first by a far lead, there is still some time for people to make a move on him. It will definitely be tough to overcome 408 points in just 12 days though!

Thousands of people use the services of Ladbrokes to satisfy their online poker needs every day. But most of them can only dream of accomplishing what their fellow Ladbrokes peer Peter “Pete4002″ Eastgate has managed to do.

The 22 year-old from Odense, Denmark has managed to become one of the final nine players left in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. Peter made it through the tough 6,844 player field to the final table where major guaranteed money awaits.

In fact, even if Peter busts out before everyone else at the table, he’ll still be guaranteed $900,670. But he’ll have to wait quite a while before finding out where he’ll finish as the WSOP Main Event final table won’t take place until November 9th.

Many people from Ladbrokes were extremely happy to see Peter Eastgate make it this far, including the MD of Ladbrokes, Edward Ihre.

Ihre commented on Eastgate by saying, “It’s great to see a Ladbrokes Poker player make it through to the final table. He has done brilliantly, and is definitely a top-class pro in the making. We’re proud to call him a Ladbrokes regular, he’s qualified through to the televised stages of Poker Million twice (2006 and 2007), so he’s no stranger to high stakes pressure.”

Eastgate will be entering the contest in fourth place with a total of 18,375,000 chips which gives him a strong chance to survive deep into the last leg of the lengthy Main Event.

Last week marked the first time in a while that the May and June Ladbrokes Leaderboards monthly champion SOXxxxxx wasn’t in the lead. That’s because cantona2243 was in charge after the first week in July.

The question many Ladbrokes players were wondering though is just how long cantona 2243 would stay in the lead. The answer would be not long as SOXxxxxx wasted no time in relieving cantona2243 from the lead.

However, a twist would occur when SOXxxxxxx would quickly lose the lead to the champion from April in wildrick. And ever since Thursday wildrick has been in the lead. See this here.

Since the point where wildrick has taken over, he has been able to increase his lead over cantona2243. wildrick is currently leading in the race for the monthly $2,000 prize by 145 points. cantona2243 is still leading over SOXxxxxx for the second place prize of $1,250 by 104 points.

Here’s the top 10 as it stands now:

Rank/Player/Points
1. wildrick 813.00
2. cantona2243 668.00
3. SOXxxxxx 562.00
4. snowee 506.00

With just a couple of days left in the month, it appeared as if SOXxxxxx would be within striking range of repeating the position of monthly champion of the Ladbrokes Leaderboards. However, his lead was dwindling and wildrick, who was in second place, had been closing the gap over the last week. This meant that SOXxxxxx might have a little competition going towards the end of the month. In reality though, SOXxxxxx really didn’t have much competition as he was able to increase his 164 point lead to a comfortable 255 point margin and runaway with the victory.

The $2,000 first place prize was SOXxxxxx for the second month in a row and wildrick settled for the 2nd place prize of $1,250. JellyHead30 was a distant third from the two and received $900 for the effort. See the final results here.

As for the start of July, SOXxxxxx and wildrick have both made appearances at the top of the leaderboard so far but they have yet to stick there. So far, the top player has been cantona2243 who leads all players with 455 points. Trailing cantona2243 is a familiar face, SOXxxxxx. He has 416 points.

Here’s the rest of the top 10 so far:

Rank/Player/Points
1 cantona2243 455
2 SOXxxxxx 416
3 Dopeychick01 366
4 wildrick 310
5 WHU145 280
6 dylanist 231
7 drewster33 219
8 thechipmaker 212
9 lucky2611 206
10 Wizer1 205
