The 12th FTOPS ended this weekend with the conclusion of the Main Event. The Main Event was a $500+35 NLHE tournament. There was a $2,500,000 guarantee and 4581 entrants.

The chip count on the final table was as follows:
Pocketownage420 – 6,355,367
azzabentonaces – 5,587,683
-NinG- – 4,796,044
nickeltwenty –3,860,832
oiltrader – 3,823,366
iDubDeuce – 2,670,082
baDONKaD0NK88 – 2,468,496
Julian “Hartwith” Adamson – 2,453,887
RonFezBuddy – 2,341,743

Oiltrader was the first to bust at the 40,000/80,000 blind level. Nickeltwenty raised to 240,000 from middle position. Oiltrader 3bet to 800,000 in the CO and azzabentonaces cold 4bet to 3,010,000 on the button. Nickeltwenty wisely folded and oiltrader went all in for 4,843,366. A call from azzabentonaces revealed KK, and oiltrader’s AK was in pretty bad shape. The board bricked and oiltrader fell in ninth place for $32,500.

Eliminated in 8th was baDONKaD0NK88, at 50,000/100,000 level. He limped AA in middle position and was looking for someone to try to steal the pot or raise it up with something legitimate. BaDONKaD0NK88 obliged when he raised from the SB, moving all in for 1,578,496 with 66. Azzabentonaces called and took down the pot after the board ran out 7d4d5s7hKc; a pretty big sweat on that flop. For eighth place, baDONKaDONK88 earned $43,750.

RonFezBuddy headed out shortly after in 7th when he shoved over a CO raise from azzabentonaces with TT. Azzabentonaces called with AQhh, flipaments! The board ran out 7s8h9h5h8d as azzabentonaces made the ace-high flush, eliminating RonFezBuddy in 7th place for $57,500.

At the 60,000/120,000 level, Julian “Hartwith” Adamson raised to 270,000 in the HJ. It folded to -NinG- in the big blind, who shoved for 2,107,088. Adamson called with AA, and -NinG- needed to catch up as a 4:1 dog with 99. He bricked and was out in sixth place for $75,000.

Nickeltwenty busted soon after in the same level. In the small blind with AQo and looking at three limpers in front of him, nickeltwenty shoved all in for 2,621,945. Chip leader azzabentonaces was the lone caller, tabling a dominating AKo. The board fell Ad7d3sTcJs and nickeltwenty left in fifth place, collecting a cool $100,000.

Julian “Hartwith” Adamson wa snect out. He shoved for 1,963,667 with A3o, but was called by iDubDeuce AKo. The board brought no help for Adamson, and he was sent to the rail for $132,500.

Three levels later iDubDeuce was busto in third place at 120,000/240,000. On the button, iDubDeuce called and azzabentonaces raised to 960,000 from the SB. iDubDeuce called and the flop came JsAc2c. Azzabentonaces bet 960,000 and iDubDeuce called. The turn came Kc and azzabentonaces fired a second barrel of 4,170,000. IDubDeuce shoved all in for 10,608,856 and azzabentonaces called with As4c, trailing iDubDeuce’s KJo for two pair. The river was a cruel 3c and that gave the pot to azzabentonaces with a flush. The third-place finish earned iDubDeuce $170,000.

Azzabentonaces began heads-up play with a massive 5:1 chip lead. But two double-ups by Pocketownage420 turned the tables, putting him in the chip lead. The tournament came to an end at the 140,000/280,000 blind level. Pocketownage420 opened to 700,000 on the button and azzabentonaces pushed shoved it all in for 7,828,420 with 77. Pocketownage420 called with AJo and won the race by making a Broadway straight. Azzabentonaces earned $262,500 for 2nd place and the winner of the FTOPS XII Main Event was Pocketownage420 for a massive $432,400!!

Final Results:
1. Pocketownage420 – $432,400
2. azzabentonaces – $262,500
3. iDubDeuce – $170,000
4. Julian “Hartwith” Adamson – $132,500
5. nickeltwenty – $100,000
6. -NinG- – $75,000
7. RonFezBuddy – $57,500
8. baDONKaD0NK88 – $43,750
9. oiltrader – $32,500

Here are the results for the Full Tilt Poker FTOPS XII Event#13: NL Hold’em Knockout with Superstack. Basically, you will get a $20 bounty for every player you knock out of the tournament. It is also a superstack event, which means that there is a ton of play here.

Tonight’s event was hosted by Russian Poker Pro Svetlana Gromenkova. She is one of the lesser known Full Tilt Reds, but that does not mean she is a bum, since she is one of the few women to hold a bracelet, having won one in the World Series of Poker champion in the 2008 $1,000 Ladies – No-Limit Hold’em. She also has a ton more ITM finishes to her name.

Of course, the Full Tilt pros were properly represented in this tournament as well. Among others, Esther Rossi, Fabrice Soulier, Isaac Baron, Leandro Brasa, and Start Paterson all had very strong finishes tonight.

$1,000,000 Guaranteed, and about 8,280 players registered which means that there was quite a bit of overlay. First prize paid over $150K!! Definitely not bad for a buy-in of $120!

Here are the stacks at the start of FTOPS XII Event #24′s final table @ 40000/80000 Ante 10K:

Seat 1: Jedi AllStar (4,531,007)

AAAPOKRDONKY berated the whole table during the whole final table. He also went home with the top prize and $159,900 in cold hard cash. Obviously, beraters should never win but he dodged the karma bullet this time.

Congratulations on the win though, but don’t berate your fellow tablemates next time. Berating is not cool.

Chances cards flew under the radar the whole tournament, but sprung to life 3-handed, and had a solid finish in 2nd for exactly $100,000. Congrats!

If you missed Event 22 of Full Tilt’s FTOPS XII, you missed a pretty major tournament. Boasting a $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, which is second only to the Main Event, and played over a 2-day period, Event 22 was set up to be big. More than 30 Red Pros played in this one along with over 750 other players, all looking to take down FTOPS’ only 2-day tournament this year.

As big as this tournament was, there was once again an overlay on the guarantee. 795 players paid the $2,500 + $120, but that left $125,000 to be covered by Full Tilt. The two-day event has a unique structure that definitely can benefit some of the more patient players out there. Everyone starts with 6,000 in chips and blinds move slowly – every 30 minutes. Day 1 concludes at the conclusion of level 17 or when the field is down to the final two tables. In this event, Day 1 finished at the conclusion of level 17 since there were more than 18 players remaining.

Huckleberry Seed was the Red Pro who made it the furthest in this tournament. For his 33rd place finish, he took down a prize of $6,800. There was a familiar name at the final two tables, however. Fyrtuk went out in 16th place this year, winning $10,000. You may, or may not, recall that fyrtuk won this event last year, which was a $5,000 buy-in tournament. That puts his 2-year total winnings in Event 22 at $635,000.

This year, though, it was TravestyFund who was able to outlast the other players over 2 days, take down the title of FTOPS Event 22 Champion, and, oh ya, pad the wallet pretty nicely too. For the first place finish, he wins $460,000.

With only two days and 6 events left in FTOPS XII, players are buckling down for a huge weekend of big buy-in, large guarantee tournaments. Event 20, a $200+$16, $400,000 guaranteed NL Hold’em Event saw 2,206 entrants create a prize pool of $441,200. This was one of the rare times FullTilt did not have to pay overlay during this series as other tournament have fallen well shy of their guarantees.

Nineteen of FullTilt’s sponsored professionals, known as “red pros” played in Event 20, including Scott Fischman, Allen Cunningham, and David Pham. Only two professionals made the money, including Cunningham, who busted in 93rd, and Ross Boatman who made a nice run before being eliminated in 59th place.

The final table was full of relative unknowns including the two players who ended heads-up, “Spinvis” and “TheKoalabear”. Neither player had a “huge” score to their name and were guaranteed to make well more than their previous best cashes once heads-up play began. In the end it was Spinvis who took down the title and nearly $90,000 for the victory.

Last night saw the return of a staple FTOPS event, the 6-max rebuy. The buy-in was set at $300, with a sizable $1,000,000 guaranteed ensuring the prize pool was well stocked. Although only 961 players opted to compete it seems they weren’t shy about reloading when their chips got low. A total of 1795 rebuys, complimented by 663 add-ons, swelled the prize pool to a total of $1,022,700 to be split between 120 players.

The tournament was hosted by Cardrunners.com instructor Cole South, who has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting cash game players online. Since taking up the game in 2005, Cole has built his bankroll to over $2 million by employing an extremely loose aggressive style. He is now a regular at the high stakes games on Full Tilt. Budding pros can gain an insight into his secrets at Cardrunners.com, one of the web’s most popular instructional sites.

Event #17 took over 11 hours to complete, a lengthy stretch, but not unusual for FTOPS events. The tournament’s host Cole South failed to make the money, but a couple of his sponsored compatriots did turn a profit. Young English pro Andrew Feldman added another impressive result to his resume, finishing in 48th. The only other Red Pro to finish in the money was TheWacoKidd, aka Jared Hamby in 113th. Known as an MTT specialist both live and online, Jared has three WPT money finishes and a WSOP main event cash to his name, along with multitudinous online profits.

Unlike many of the previous FTOPS XII tournaments, the heads up contest in Event #17 was relatively straightforward. The final three competitors entered play on similar stacks and things stayed that way until U_2Good4_Me pushed all-in preflop with KQ off-suit. mralan2950 made a quick call with A10, but was knocked out of the tournament when a Queen fell on the flop.

This gave U_2Good4_Me about $3.2 million, compared to his opponent stevie444, who held only $1.2 million. From then on it would be a little over an hour before the tournament concluded, with practically no big pots along the way. U_2Good4_Me set about playing consistent small ball poker, slowly grinding down his opponent until he held an advantage of around $4.5 million vs. $700k. At this point stevie444 began to cut his losses and push all-in multiple times. U_2Good4_Me would not be tempted however, and bided his time until he felt he had an edge.

The tipping point eventually came after about 30 minutes, with stevie444 putting it all-in preflop. U_2Good4_Me made the call and showed his Td-Qd, a clear favourite against stevie’s Jh-8d. A Queen on the flop all but settled the tournament, with a 9 on the turn giving stevie some small hope of a gutshot . However, it was not to be, and U_2Good4_Me walked away with a well deserved $213,232.95. His opponent, stevie444, received $142,155.30 for second place, while mralan2950 took home $101,247.30 in third.

j__thaddeus Takes Down FTOPS XII Event#13 — Double stacked 6-MAX NLHE Shoot Out

Another great FTOPS event is in the books, and we have another big-money winner. Today was a particularly special one, because it was a double stacked 6-max shootout event; essentially a deepstacked sit-n-go, 6-max, with the winner advancing to the next 6-max sit-n-go, and so on. So basically, to win this thing, you would need to be the literal last man standing out of a number of separate sit-n-go matches.

Tonight’s event was hosted by Markus Golser. Markus is a seasoned vet of the poker world, but he is not very well known around the west. He is, however, almost a deity in his native Austria with celeb status. He is a mean PLO specialist, but he is also very good at NLHE.

All the big names of Full Tilt Poker made their presence felt, including among many, Christian Kruel, Erich Kollmann, David “The Dragon” Pham, Barney Boatman, Lee Watkinson, Ram Vaswani and Trond Eidsvig.

The toughest 6 who made it to today’s final table were:
Seat 1: j__thaddeus (450,000)

FTOPS XII could be getting a little expensive for the folks over at Full Tilt. Yesterday’s Event 12 drew a decent crowd of 1,349 players to pay the $1,000 + $60 entry fee. However, that still left an overlay of $151,000 in the $1.5 million guaranteed tournament.

Event 12 was a 6-max, no-limit Hold’em event with early antes to get the loose aggressive play started right away! Just over 30 Red Pros played in this tournament. The top finisher among them was Steve Brecher, finishing in 99th place. Bruce Buffer, Erich Kollmann, and Isaac Baron were the other Full Tilt Pros to make it to the top 174 and get paid.

Getting paid is nice, but getting to the final table is even better. Of course, being a 6-max tournament, the final table players were a chosen few. In the end it came down to Jas11 and GotURead, with Jas11 coming out on top and taking down a very nice payday of $300,000.

Sunday was a big day for FTOPS XII. Three tournaments (8,9,10) ran simultaneously throughout the day, the biggest of which was the $1,500,000 guaranteed Event #10. The tournament failed to reach its guarantee, an alarming trend so far in FTOPS XII. Yesterday only 4,145 players signed up for the $300+$22 buy-in event, which created $256,500 in overlay. While this is certainly great for those playing in the event, it is a cause for concern for these events in the future.

Nearly 50 FullTilt Sponsored Professionals played in the event including some big names. Allen Cunningham, former WSOP Player of the Year, made the money finishing in 476th place. David “the Dragon” Pham, WPT Winner, was unable to cash, busting in 1667th. FTOPS Event #7 winner Gavin Smith was eliminated very early, going out in 3596th place. Overall it was a tough day for FullTilt’s Professionals as none made a run inside the top-100.

The most well-known player coming into the final table ending up winning the event. “Doc Sands”, who now has nearly $500,000 in cashes on FullTilt alone, was able to outlast a table of relative unknowns to win his first FTOPS Event and $259,440. This is his 3rd major win on FullTilt and his highest score. He has won the Sunday $750k and just last month he won the Sunday Mulligan.

FullTilt FTOPS XII Event 10 $1.5M Guaranteed
4,145 Entrants; $1,500,000 prize pool

1. Doc Sands $259,440
2. Sebago2811 $157,500
3. z81ima $102,000
4. Luukie21 $79,500
5. jojo69jojo $60,000
6. Ramux $45,000
7. fats713 $34,500
The flop came 4d7sJc and Collins led out 835,000. RSGII min-raised to 1,670,000 and Collins shoved for 6,962,528. RSGII tanked over the decision for a few moments before calling with KcJh.
When HU started these were the following chip counts:

RSGII – 17,417,437
