Brian Hastings, one of the first coaches of CardRunners, has one his first W.S.O.P. bracelet in the $10k No Limit Texas Hold’em Heads Up Event. Hastings, a well known nosebleed pro, bested a field of 152 established online and live pros to win Event #12, the bracelet, as well as over $370k. The field included notables such as Isildur1, Antonio Esfandiari, Isaac Haxton, Sam Trinkett, as well as FlopTurnRiver’s very own Richard “Nutsinho” Lyndaker, and Danny Steinberg. Both of which finished in the money for $10.9k.
Brian Hastings is mostly known for his coaching at CardRunners as well as beating Isildur1 heads up in an epic two day match that netted Hastings over $5.6m. His videos may be found at CardRunners.com which requires a subscription to view and mostly focus on tuning six max no limit hold em and six max pot limit omaha skills. Hastings has appeared on NBC’s Poker After Dark in the show’s first pot limit omaha cash game.
The final heads up match ended with Brian Hastings shoving Ah4h on the button with small effective stacks and getting called by Jason Mo’s Qd9s. With the board running out AsJs8c Mo would need a ten, running flush cards or running two pair or trips to survive. On the turn Mo caught a Qc which gave him a five more outs but the river was the 7c giving Hastings the win and the bracelet. Jason Mo won $229k for his efforts but we’re all sure he’d much rather have the win and the bracelet. Congrats to both players on a fantastic run in Event #12 and a special congratulations to Brian Hastings the winner of the tournament.
