This weekend, the Bodog Poker Open V went out with a bang with two events that closed out their respective series: the big-money Championship Series of tournaments and the aimed-at-everyone Contender Series. First place in the Championship Series Main Event, a $200,000 guaranteed tournament went to “Whitey03,” who pocketed $50,000 for their victory along with a spot in the Bodog Poker Open Hall of Fame. In a first for the poker room, the winner of the Championship Series finale also received a personalized Corum Romulus Chronograph as part of their prize package. “hebs” earned $32,000 for their second-place finish while “how8life” received $20,000 for taking third.
The Contender Series finale, while not as high-stakes, featured some terrific action. The lower buy-ins meant more were in it to win it at the $15,000 Guaranteed tournament’s tables. “palcemyglaz” won $4,324 for their first-place finish, putting their name in the Bodog Poker Open Hall of Fame alongside “Whitey03″ and other champions from years past. “I M A King” walked away with $2,767.36 and second place and “bornwinner86″ came in third, earning $1,746.89.
While the Bodog Poker Open is finished until next year, the website hosts a bevy of tournaments, including guaranteed events that include a weekly $100,000 tourney that you can get in on for as little as a single dollar!
