Just yesterday afternoon, Bally Technologies, Inc. received the first interactive gaming supplier license issued by the state of Nevada.  Bally Technologies submitted its application for the license in October of last year, two months before Nevada became the country’s first state to adopt online gaming regulations.

International Game Technology, or IGT, was among the 30-plus companies that also submitted applications for interactive gaming licenses in Nevada.  And shortly after Bally’s application was unanimously approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission, each of the commission’s five members approved IGT’s license application.

Both Bally Technologies and IGT will now have to have their respective technology tested by independent, state-approved Independent Testing Labs.  Once their technology is approved, Bally Technologies and IGT will partner with brick-and-mortar casinos to offer Nevada residents and visitors the chance to play real-money games on the Internet, although only poker games will be introduced to start.

The casinos selected to work with Bally Technologies and IGT will have to receive their own licenses from the Nevada Gaming Commission.
