With May now over and June just underway, it’s time to see how one month panned out and how the other one starts off.

For the May Monthly MTT’s, the final top ten looks like this:

1. Tooren 6783
2. BaSt4r 6152
3. Marcilan 5757
4. Slayer_pol 5650
5. Nuckin_Futs 5457
6. hase66 5070
7. Kratzbaum 4853
8. pieronaldino 4621
9. ExaMeter 4599
10. Rafichon 4594

First off, lets congratulate Tooren for holding down on the top spot for the last couple of weeks to win the May Monthly MTT’s for Everest Poker. The top 5 spots remained the same as they were last week. hase66 jumped Kratzbaum as they finished 6th and 7th respectively. pieronaldino moved into the number 8 spot while ExaMeter dropped one stop to number 9. Rafichon finished 10th. espagne8 and mmoomm dropped off the leaderboard in the last week, but both are strong players who are continually vivying for a top 10 spot.

So far with just two days past in June, the top 10 is already shaping up a little bit. Let’s take a look:

1. fabbz 1115
2. foukadir 913
3. homer1985 892
4. pakhuis 851
5. Vincenzo88 830
6. asse44
7. Rafichon 823
8. MrCabdriver 724
9. claudioney18 686
10. macqueen 681

There are some newer names on the top 10 so far since we’ve been covering the Everest Poker Leaderboards, but hopefully this shows that there are not only some new players here as well as a little more parity among the Monthly MTT’s.

For the Sit and Go High Leaderboard, lets look how May ended up:

1. Ze_Carica 3890
2. OskarStar 3686
9. eurodollar54 3332
JakobFuller dropped from 3rd to 5th, Rem24 fell one spot to 6th. gogepok also fell one spot down to 7th, while benny1896 moved onto the leaderboard at 8th. eurodollar54 remained in 9th place and Ronin26 finished tenth. ikzelfzelf and oliv35 dropped off the leaderboard.

So far this week, there are some new players for the Weekly Sit and Go High leaderboard:

8. moonen0303 707
9. gaelinho_666 703
10. SPOOTY83 694

There are a lot of new names from what we’ve seen lately, but that will happen when your looking at weekly leaderboards. One interesting fact to be seen is whether Kratzbaum will continue playing in the MTT’s as well as the SIT and Go High tournaments or if he has decided that it’s time for a change.

The Sit and Go Low Leaderboard for the month of May looks like this:

1. jor69 2385
2. babe_rose 2347

Vincente Perez, 57, of Macon, Georgia pleaded guilty over the fatal stabbing that took place at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic city.

Perez and Arthur Price, 61, got into an argument over a seat at a poker table. The disagreement continued outside to the valet parking area. Prince then proceeded to hit Perez with a cane several times. It was then that Perez pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Prince, who severed an artery and was pronounced dead at an Atlantic City Hospital.

Perez will be sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to reckless manslaughter. He said he didn’t mean to kill anyone claiming self-defense was the reason he brought out the pocket knife in the first place.

The argument started over a seat at a $1/$2 no-limit Texas Hold’em game. Prince was apparently awarded Perez’s former seat. Perez was out of cash and went to an ATM machine to get more money, and when he returned, Prince was in his seat after being told to by one of the floor people at the Taj Mahal.

With May winding down fast here, let’s jump right into it to see how this month is panning out for everyone.

There is also a 4 way tie for 8th place between -szojo-, Wumen, brazomap, and fernando1056. All the people are basically still in the top 10, but they are moving around like crazy here towards the end of the month.

With May quickly winding down, it’ll be interesting to see how everything plays out here in the Monthly MTT, and Sit and Go High and Low Tournaments. Be sure to look back next week to see how this month plays out as well as how June starts off!

It was hosted by Amanda Baker. It was a 200k Guarantee that had 2,140 players.

The chip counts going into the final table were as follows:

1. Pokah_Prinz 838,357
2. comhood 831,290
3. OneUponAStar 606,395
4. dud711 498,476
5. kkpapoose7 398,686
6. Iamjones 395,338
7. DannyMac31 329,778
8. MattSuspect 227,784
9. zuzu99 153,896

With the blinds at 25k/50k and a 6k ante, DannyMac31 went all in with a TA off and was called by Pokah_Prinz with a suited AJ. The flop came Q7Q. The turn and river came 5, J and DannyMac31 was taken out in 9th place.

The blinds moved up to 30k/60k with a 7,500 ante, and more action came to the table as Iamjones moved all-in. MattSuspect called the all-in so it was Iamjones’s TA versus MattSuspects 4A.

If you happen to live in the state of Washington, an important ruling came down today at the hands of a King County Superior Court judge. She ruled that playing poker for money online is still illegal in this state. Lee Rousso, a local attorney and poker player said he hopes the U.S. Supreme Court would hopefully issue the ultimatum ruling eventually.

Last year, the Senate and House of Washington added online gambling to the list of illegal activities in Washington. Playing online poker in Washington is currently a Class C felony, with up to 5 years in jail and a fine of $10,000 possible. Consequently, playing online poker in Washington is in line with child pornography and distribution of heroin for their penalties if convicted.

Hopefully Rousso is successful in bringing his case up against the U.S. Supreme Court as he feels as though making online gambling illegal violates his rights brought forth by the Constitution. His argument went up saying that there was no jurisdictional power by the states to regulate something that is often starting from companies located in places other than the United States.

King county Superior Judge Mary Roberts claimed that the history of the states strict gambling laws influenced her ruling. The truth to this matter is that something needs to be done in many of the states today to stop making online poker illegal, because I don’t even think the legislators themselves consider playing poker online is punishable by up to 5 years of your life in jail and a hefty fine of $10,000.

look at the chip counts heading into the final table:

1. Kavin86 1,114,541
2. scatterbrain123 495,675
3. Care4Nature 465,801
4. MMMADD 424,767
5. LokoIsBack 361,264
6. bd3109 322,952

With the blinds at 15k/30k, bd3109 was short stacked. He raised to 105,000 and mmmadd re-raised over the top to put bd3109 all-in. mmmadd showed AQ7A with a heart draw while bd3109 came in with KT9Q. The flop came Td 7h 4h to give mmmadd a heart flush draw and bd3109 a pair of tens. The river came and tripped bd3109’s T’s but mmmadd rivered a flush to take out bd3109 in 6th place

With the blinds still at 15k/30k, LokoIsBack raised to 105k. ScatterBrain123 raised to 345k and LokoIsBack just called. The flop came 448 with two diamonds and scatterbrain123 moved all-in with a quick call from LokoIsBack. Scatterbrain123 showed 8’s full of 4’s and LokoIsBack
was drawing dead. LokoIsBack finished in 5th place.

With the blinds raised to 20k/40k, Care4Nature and Kavin86 went against each other in a big hand. With the flop 8T8, Care4Nature bet the pot and Kavin86 re-raised the minimum. Care4Nature called putting him all-in with two pair A’s & 8’s versus Kavin86 10’s full of 8’s. The turn and river both dodged aces to take out Care4Nature in 4th place.

The final table was now cut in half with Kavin86 chip leader with 2,035k and mmmadd and scatterbrain123 with 538k and 552k respectively. After seeing the flop of T32, acting checked through with the turn coming as a 9 of hearts. mmmadd re-raised Kavin86’s bet of 200k over the top all-in. mmmadd has top set with a gut shot straight draw versus Kavin86’s higher straight draw. The river was a 7 of spades to double up mmmadd to 1.15 million.

The next elimination came between chip leader mmmaddd with almost 1.8 million and Kavin86 with just over 725k. 40k was all Kavin86 needed to call and the flop came K93. Kavin86 went all in and mmmadd called. mmmadd showed kings up with Kavin86 fishing for a 7 or 10 on the turn or river. They came 5, 2 respectively to take out Kavin86 in 3rd place and give mmmadd a commanding chip lead of just over 2.5 million to scatterbrain123’s 624k.

With the blinds up to 25k/50k, scatterbrain123 went all in with pocket queens versus mmmadd’s 2TKA. After the flop came J23, scatterbrain123 looked in good shape until a 4 and a 5 came back to back on the turn and the river. mmmadd finished the hand with a straight to take out scatterbrain123 and take down the tournament after coming into the final table 4th in chips.

The complete list of payouts went as follows:

There is a log-jam at 3rd through 6th and spots 7-10 have an average lead over the rest of the field. Be sure to check back next Monday to see how the rest of this week plays out.

Last Weeks Sit & Go Low leaders:

10. otbld 802
10. TheVotary 802

As you can see, there jor69 and kudi66 ran away with the table. Interesting is that there were two ties, one for 4th place and one for 10th place.

Caesar78 and saacha are both newcomers. dr-gonzo is currently 4th after his 3rd place finish last week. tonymanuel23 and -.K.- are having a solid week so far in 5th and 6th. In 7th place is otbld, againhe was one of the players that finished in a tie for 10th last week. Grande.rei, okomoko, and sprengel are rounding out the top 10 so far for this week.

Be sure to check back next Monday so we can see how these Everest Poker Leaderboards change in just one weeks time and hopefully make some of these online players household names for FTR.

Two time WSOP bracelet winner Josh Arieh is leaving Bodog Poker. After being sponsored by Bodog for the last three years, the two have decided to mutually split.

“Bodog and Josh have mutually decided to part ways at the end of April. Josh had a great run as a member of Team Bodog over the past four years that included finishing third at the 2004 WSOP Main Event, winning his second WSOP bracelet in 2005 and a number of final-table appearances at high profile tournaments. We sincerely enjoyed our association with Josh and appreciate all that he brought to Team Bodog. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors, both at and away from the poker table.”

Part of the reason that Arieh and Bodog decided to split has to do with the recent signing of young pro Justin Bonomo, with Bodog looking to go in a different direction with their sponsorships.

While Arieh is currently without a sponsor, he claims that it won’t keep him away from the tables. “Luckily I have been smart with the money I’ve earned in the last five years in poker and not being sponsored won’t keep me away from the tables” said Arieh. He also had nothing but good words to say about his time with Bodog.

While Arieh is currently focusing on the WSOP, he doesn’t think that his split with Bodog will affect his game. Said Arieh, “I feel like I am playing better than I have ever played, and I’m really not all that worried about anything other than this year’s WSOP, my family and my struggling golf game!”

It’s sad to see such a great poker player and a great website split from sponsorship, but I’m sure Josh Arieh will be back on top of the game with a new sponsor soon. Watch for Arieh in this years upcomming World Series of Poker held in Las Vegas.
