A New Look for Bodog-Poker

A New Look for Bodog-Poker

Two time WSOP bracelet winner Josh Arieh is leaving Bodog Poker. After being sponsored by Bodog for the last three years, the two have decided to mutually split.

Bodog and Josh have mutually decided to part ways at the end of April. Josh had a great run as a member of Team Bodog over the past four years that included finishing third at the 2004 WSOP Main Event, winning his second WSOP bracelet in 2005 and a number of final-table appearances at high profile tournaments. We sincerely enjoyed our association with Josh and appreciate all that he brought to Team Bodog. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors, both at and away from the poker table.”

Part of the reason that Arieh and Bodog decided to split has to do with the recent signing of young pro Justin Bonomo, with Bodog looking to go in a different direction with their sponsorships.

While Arieh is currently without a sponsor, he claims that it won’t keep him away from the tables. “Luckily I have been smart with the money I’ve earned in the last five years in poker and not being sponsored won’t keep me away from the tables” said Arieh. He also had nothing but good words to say about his time with Bodog.

While Arieh is currently focusing on the WSOP, he doesn’t think that his split with Bodog will affect his game. Said Arieh, “I feel like I am playing better than I have ever played, and I’m really not all that worried about anything other than this year’s WSOP, my family and my struggling golf game!”

It’s sad to see such a great poker player and a great website split from sponsorship, but I’m sure Josh Arieh will be back on top of the game with a new sponsor soon. Watch for Arieh in this years upcomming World Series of Poker held in Las Vegas.
