One of the newest sites on the Cake network, Unleashed Poker offers a downloadable client for users to connect with one another and play poker. It's a sizable download, weighing in at 13 MB, but even though this is somewhat larger than some other poker rooms it still shouldn't take long to save to your computer on any reasonable internet connection. It's worth the file size, too, as Unleashed Poker has done a great job of implementing the Cake Poker 2.0 software to produce a client that's both fully functional and visually appealing.
Unfortunately if you want to join in on the action you're going to need Windows to run the client, so Mac and Linux users are out of luck. At this time English is the only language supported by the poker room, but they have announced that they're working on getting both Spanish and Portuguese localizations up in the near future.
If you've played on other sites on the Cake Poker Network before, then the lobby layout of the Unleashed Poker download will be familiar to you, which is nice. Unlike some of the other skins on the network, Unleashed Poker has fortunately not decided to opt for a clashing color scheme, but instead is predominantly dark blue with nice gold highlighting. A series of tabs allow you to slowly filter down the tables displayed, whether you're after tournaments or cash games, by game type, buy-in and format. The system works well and is easy to use, so you should have no problems quickly finding a seat at a table you want. When you're more familiar with the software there are advanced filters which can be applied, offering to sort games by all sorts of more complicated methods.
When you take your seat at a table, once again you'll be enjoying the tried and true functionality of other skins on the Cake Poker Network, but with a really nice aesthetic feel created by the color scheme and the smooth animations. The site offers a great deal of optional extras such as fully-customizable themes, color, and four-coloured decks, to go along with the well polished functionality of the bet sliders and buttons, which work exactly as you'd hope with no funny surprises. Something to always look out for is if instant hand history can be displayed from the table, in case you missed how the action went or need to check what somebody had in a particular spot, and Unleashed Poker offers this feature in the top left-hand corner of the table windows.
All in all, we're pretty impressed with the Unleashed Poker download. Of course we've seen a lot of the features before as this is just a skin of the Cake Poker Network, but when the software package is this well put together it's fairly hard to chalk that up as a negative point. The visual tweaks and personal touches that Unleashed Poker brings to the download work really well, making this a pleasant room to play at for extended periods of time.
