“Stardust NL” by Aces, 29 Mar 2006
Atmosphere: Wait: Variety: Fish:
Stayed at the Stardust over the 2nd w/e
of the NCAA tournament and played the
1/2NL exclusively. Played at various
times Wed through Sat. Tables are now
non-smoking, though it's still pretty
smokey from the casino and railbirds.
Most dealer were friendly enough, a
couple weren't. Management seemed
competent. Overall dealer quality was
average to below average. I saw quite a
few misdeals, misreads or other
mistakes. Drinks were always quick. $5
food comp if you ask. Get the Steak &
Egg special(11pm to 6am) for
free($4.95). Room rates of $30($45 for
w/e) are very attractive. Tower rooms
were pretty decent. Players were mostly
partying and looking to gamble. Wait
was never long and you could here it
called throughout the casino. Only
offered 1/2NL(most of the time) and
3/6(always). Players were horrendous.
TAG play wins big-time here, just be
patient. Stardust is a bit off the
beaten track. If you're walking it's
not the best location, only the Wynn and
maybe the Sahara are within a reasonable
walk for close poker rooms.
“Stardust 4 Poker? ummm” by jmg, 11 Dec 2005
Atmosphere: Wait: Variety: Fish:
Ok I'll just give it strat. Stardust is
in my estimating one of the worst places
in Vegas you could play poker, for the
following reasons;
-It's the only room that still allows
smoking at the tables, as if didn't get
enough 2nd hand walking to the room
across the casino floor. (If u smoke
might be a positive)
-It's not in the best location, it's a
far walk at the north end of strip, past
the Wynn. Also a walk I wouldn't
suggest taking at 2-3am after cashing
out a nice win.
Furthermore the Stardust is known for
it's Sports Book, it's where the wise
guys go to bet. Since I'm a capper I
spent alot of time there my last trip.
Startdust also has some good adult
oriented shows (I saw Geroge Carlin).
Simply put if your looking just to play
cards there are plenty of other rooms.
Mariage has stakes for all levels and is
very nice. Imperial Palace and Harras's
are also very nice poker rooms with some
good perks. Inaddition Ceasers and
Venitian are making plans to open poker
rooms.
(I'm drooling they should be great.)
“Las Vegas Stardust Poker Review” by Eric, 13 Sep 2005
Atmosphere: Wait: Variety: Fish:
The atmosphere at the Stardust is nice
but it is not as fancy as some of the
newer casinos on the strip. The waiting
list system is very efficient. We were
able to call in to get our names in
place and the pages can be heard
throughout the casino. There isn’t any
variety in the games, all the tables are
hold’em and all the stakes are the same.
Like most brick and mortar casinos, it
has bad players who like to gamble.
