This is the club I have probably played
the most at, with second being Lucky
Chances.
Casino San Pablo is a decent size poker
room with 18 tables running on a full
night (Friday and Saturday). You can
get a game pretty much anytime you want
24/7, but normally you should be
prepared to wait if you want to play the
no limit tables. They will only spread
2 of the $100 buy-in tables (note, this
is a $100 fixed buyin, not $100-$200 as
posted above, you can rebuy up to $100
at any time, and one short buy, even
$10, is allowed per full buy), no matter
how deep the board is. Often, the board
can be 15 or more people, and I have
waited over 2 hours to get a seat.
Tuesdays and Thursdays they spread the
bigger $300-$500 game, although some
days it only goes earlier in the day.
The drop is the best in the area, $3 for
the house per hand and $1 for the
jackpot. (regardless of whether there is
a flop or not). The small jackpot is
$5000 for Aces full of Jacks cracked by
quads or better, and a larger jackpot of
$100,000 for quad sixes beat. The large
jackpot pays the entire poker room, not
just the table, however.
There are generally several fish at each
table dropping buyin after buyin. In
fact, there are times that I genuinely
feel bad for some people. This is the
only club where I have seen people shove
allin blind. If you have the patience,
any fairly tight player should be able
to beat this game.
The blind structure for the $100 is
$2/$2/$2 with the button also posting,
and it is $4 to go. Be prepared to
rebuy, as that gives you 25xbb stack
sizes when you start. When a second
table opens, it is a must move table for
the first hour only, then no forced
moves.
The blinds for the $3-$6 games is
$3/$2/$2, and likewise for the $6/$12
($6/$3/$3) and $9/$18 ($9/$6/$6).
The staff is friendly, although a few of
the floor could be a little happier,
imho.
The food is decent. No spectators
behind the tables though, so don't
bring your girlfriend/boyfriend unless
they want to play or sit far away from
you.
The only games are holdem, no stud or
Omaha. |
