PokerWorld still considers themselves their own poker community, even though they have now joined the larger Cake Poker Network. As part of that network, they have access to much more traffic, which in time should give the site a really nice player base.
The software at PokerWorld is quite good, although it does demand a little more memory than their last version. The download is about 12.5 MB, which takes less than a minute to download with a high-speed modem. They do list their system requirements on the website, which is nice. For Windows operators, they require a 366MHz or faster CPU, with a minimum of 256 MB of RAM. You must also have 800x600 or 1024x768 screen resolution with 16-bit color depth, at least 40MB of free disk space and a 128kbps or faster internet connection.
Mac Users need a 1.83GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with 1GB PC2-5300 RAM, 64MB Intel GMA 950 graphics, at least 40MB free disk space and the same internet connection. For a Mac, you also need Parallels Desktop 3.0, or Crossover for Mac, or VMWare Fusion.
Once you get the software up and running, which takes no time at all, you will not be disappointed. If you have steered clear of PokerWorld in the past because of the traffic issues, you should really give it a shot now. Great software, good games and bonuses, and solid traffic makes PokerWorld an excellent choice!
