| Party Poker Rakeback Alternative and VIP Program
is one of the world’s largest poker rooms. Consistently in the top 5 in site traffic, Party Poker has more than 100,000 players connected at their busiest times. Up until now, Party Poker’s VIP Program had been significantly lacking compared to other big sites such as PokerStars or FullTilt.
While Party Poker does NOT offer “rakeback” per se, it now offers quite a nice equivalent. Much like PokerStars’ VIP Program, PartyPoker’s VIP is a ladder-system which offers bigger bonuses and prizes to their more loyal (and higher rake-paying) customers.

PartyPoker Rakeback VIP Levels
There are five levels in the VIP System: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Palladium, and Palladium Elite. Each level has different cash bonus options as well as rakeback equivalents. Moving through each level is quite simple. As long as you reach the required amount of PartyPoints in the allotted time, you can maintain your status or even move up through the ranks. The Chart Below explains how many points a player must accumulate for each VIP Level:
Bronze - 0 Points per Month
Silver - 400 Points per Month
Gold - 1,000 Points per Month
Palladium - 9,000 Points per Quarter
Palladium Elite - 50,000 Points per Quarter
The recently updated system promises a 50% increase in PartyPoints value as well as a rakeback equivalent of up to 40%. There are many ways to earn PartyPoints including playing in real money cash games, SNGs, and tournaments. The points are available to the player immediately after leaving the table/tournament and can be used to purchase items from the PartyPoints Store. Finally, the new update gives more value to points when they are spent in a higher amount. The more you spend, the better value you receive.
has also simplified the earning process. For tournaments and SNGs, one PartyPoint is rewarded for every 50cents paid in tournament fees. For example, a $10+$1 SNG will earn a player two points. Cash games are slightly more complicated, as points are paid per number of raked pots played. For example, to earn 10 PartyPoints at a $2/$4 Limit Hold’em table a player must play 18 raked hands, while at $1/$2 No-Limit Hold’em 10 Points are awarded after playing 25 raked hands. For a player to reach the Palladium Level playing $1/$2 NL he/she will have to play 22,500 raked hands. To reach Palladium Elite, that same player will have to play 125,000 raked hands at $1/$2 NL.
After gaining points players may spend them on items from the PartyPoker Store or use them on cash or bonuses. Players can immediately receive cash or elect to receive a larger bonus amount. The bonuses take 25% of their value in points to clear and are awarded to your account in 20% increments. The chart below is an example of the available bonuses and their respective rakeback equivalents:

As one can see, taking the bonuses results in a much higher rakeback percentage than the immediate cash option. Comparing this to other known poker sites which operate around 25-30% rakeback means it will take a player using the Bonus option under Palladium longer to receive equal rakeback. For those who can grind out a lot of Party Points the rakeback equivalent will be much higher than they can receive at other sites. Therefore, those grinding small-stakes may have trouble reaching a 25-30% rakeback level for some time. However, this is typically the case for a site which does not offer rakeback, only a rakeback equivalent. |
