| Paddy Power Poker Rakeback Alternative and VIP Program
is a great European card room offering nice bonuses, a growing player base, 24-hour support, and clean, smooth-running software. While Paddy Poker may not offer “rakeback” it does have a nice player points system which is virtually the same thing.
For most players earning rakeback and bonuses can provide a nice boost to a bankroll or perhaps even a secondary income from their winnings. Being able to earn rakeback through Paddy Points is simple and easy, all you have to do is start playing!
Paddy Poker DOES NOT offer or allow any kind of rakeback. However, Paddy Poker offers a VIP club to reward players.
There are six rakeback levels, all named after military positions. From Private all the way to General players earn bonuses, prizes, and exclusive tournament entries. As you play more and more hands at Paddy Poker you will start to move through the ranks and in the process gain more bonuses and prizes! The amount of points one receives is determined by their VIP Level, the amount raked in each pot, or the fee from entering a MTT or SNG.

Paddy Power Poker Rakeback VIP Levels
Paddy Power Poker VIP Ranks-Private
Every new player on starts at the “Private” level on the VIP scale. Once you have earned 1200 points you will be eligible to for the “Lieutenant” rank at the beginning of the next month. Privates can use their Paddy Points only for prizes from the P4P Store.
Examples of prizes are computer monitors, laptops, iPod’s, and gaming consoles.
Paddy Power Poker VIP Ranks-Lieutenant
Once a player has earned at least 1200 Paddy Points in the previous month he/she will be considered a “Lieutenant”. Being a lieutenant allows a player to earn Paddy Points faster and to use paddy points for cash. To maintain Lieutenant Status you must earn 1200 points each month or you will return to the Private VIP Level. Once you have earned 6500 Paddy Points in a month you will be eligible for “Captain” Status.
Paddy Power Poker VIP Ranks-Captain
After a player has earned a minimum 6500 Paddy Points in a given month he/she will be known as a “Captain” VIP Level. Captain’s earn points even faster than Lieutenant’s as well as make themselves eligible for a monthly $30 Bonus. Players must earn 6500 each month or they will return to a lower VIP Level. Once a player earns 12,500 Paddy Points in a given month he will be promoted to “Major” Status.
Paddy Power Poker VIP Ranks-Major
To become a Major at Paddy Poker one must gain 12,500 in a month. The perks of becoming a major including gaining Paddy Points even faster than as a Captain and also a $60 monthly bonus instead of the $30 bonus. To move from Major to Colonel VIP Levels one must earn at least 30,000 points in a month.
Paddy Power Poker VIP Ranks-Colonel
After gaining over 30,000 Paddy Points in any given month a player will be promoted to Colonel Status. The 2nd highest rank is where the bonuses really begin to matter and are quite large. At the beginning of each month all Colonel’s will receive a $250 bonus along with gaining Paddy Points even faster and being eligible for Paddy Points Cash Outs. To make it to the highest VIP Level, General, one must gain 60,000 each month. If a Colonel fails to gain 30,000 points in a month he/she will return to a lower VIP Level.
Paddy Power Poker VIP Ranks-General
General is the highest VIP Level possible at Paddy Poker and certainly carries a wide variety of benefits. Generals receive a $500 bonus at the beginning of each month at an additional $100 bonus for each 12,000 Paddy Points they gain. Note you cannot get this bonus and cash the points in, however, typically 12,000 Paddy Points would only account for a $12 bonus, so your rakeback is improved by 850% here. General’s also accumulate points as quickly as possible, in some instances 2-3x more so than lower ranks.
A final note about the VIP Levels, once you have been at the site for multiple months your average monthly Paddy Points will be used to calculate your VIP Level. Therefore if you happen to not play for a month you will not drop all the way to the Private level provided you had earned enough points in the previous 2-3 months to maintain a higher VIP Level.

To determine your rakeback %’s with Paddy Poker you must realize that you will receive $1 for every 1000 Paddy Points that you accumulate unless you are a General.
If we take an average rake of $1 and look at all the levels this is how the rakeback works:
Private - No rakeback, only eligible for prizes
Lieutenant - You earn 3.5 points for every $1 raked, therefore you must get $1 raked 285 times to receive $1 in rakeback. However, most posts are rake more and it should be fairly easy to reach the next levels.
Captain - Captain’s earn 3.75 points for every $1 raked; therefore it would take 266 $1 raked pots to receive $1 in rakeback. Captains also receive a $30 bonus to start each month.
Major - Major’s receive 4 points for every $1 raked; therefore it would take 250 rake pots to receive $1 in rakeback. Majors receive a $60 bonus to start each month.
Colonel - Colonel’s receive 4.5 points for every $1 rake, therefore it would take 222 $1 raked pots to receive $1 in rakeback. Colonels receive a $250 bonus at the beginning of each month.
General - General’s receive $500 to start each month plus $100 for every 12,000 Paddy Point’s they earn. It would take nearly 2200 $1 raked pots to earn the $100 bonus; however, if your pot reaches $3 you gain 17 points and anything about that you gain 23 points,
In general it appears the Paddy Points alone do not provide a large % of rakeback, however, combined with the monthly bonuses, fishy play, and nice software, Paddy Poker is still a great site to build a bankroll.
