What's New?

Hey FTR'ers! We've been real busy over here at FlopTurnRiver.com and for those of you who haven't visited in a while, we'd thought we'd get you a quick update on what's new with FTR via our first ever FTR Newsletter!

Poker and the Law

As many of you already know, the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in the United States has drastically changed the world of online poker. Some of the largest online poker rooms have closed their doors to US players, while other poker rooms maintain a different interpretation of this new law and are offering great bonuses to all new players, including those residing in the US. Some of the smaller poker rooms have shut down completely, while mergers and acquisitions are occurring regularly. To try to keep our visitors well-informed, we've launched a new section at FTR - "
US Friendly Poker Rooms" - that lists those online poker rooms that have their doors open to US customers, along with a new forum category, "Online Gaming Legislation", where we can maintain discussions and keep updated on the latest legislative and industry news.

FTR Exclusives

It isn't all bleak in the online poker world though, FTR continues to grow in popularity and traffic! And we're leveraging that with our poker room partners now. We've just launched an "
Exclusive Bonuses" section where some of our online poker partners have offered up exclusive bonuses or promotions to FTR visitors. These extra perks are given to FTR visitors in addition to the standard bonuses offered by the poker room. We have a $850 private FTR Freeroll scheduled at Titan Poker on November 25th, 3:00 pm ET and a $500 private FTR Freeroll scheduled at Doyle's Room (US friendly!) on December 17th, 2006, 9:00 pm ET. There's still time to participate in both events, but you most open a new account through FlopTurnRiver.com Visit our Exclusive Offers and Bonuses forum for all the details! We expect to be adding several more exclusive promotions over the coming months, so be sure to check back often and see what deals we've launched!

Poker Blogs

Several veteran members have started blogs over at FTR, and we are now featuring the most recent blog entries on the bottom of our homepage. Peruse the poker lives of some of our long standing members in the
FTR Poker Blogs!

Poker Tools

Ok, now on to our
Poker Tools Section. We've added a few cool features here. The FTR Hand History Converter is getting widely used across poker forums across the world. Well, we are storing each of the hand histories converted in our database so you can now browse our database of these actual Holdem hands played. The database of hands are sorted by the 2 card starting Holdem hand, the structure of the game (Limit vs No/Pot Limit), type of game (Tourney vs Ring), and whether the hand is suited or not. With over 40,000 real hands played, you can browse a bunch of examples of how people have played a hand like AA in a limit game, or 72 in a tournament. Visit our Hand History Converter Database to check this out.

That's about it for now folks. Future FTR Newsletters will continue to keep you updated on what's going on at FlopTurnRiver.com, including other planned freerolls, the start of the next FTR Gauntlet poker league, and any other cool activites and events that will be coming down the line. If you haven't visited FTR in a while, you may want to stop by. Our Poker Forum is almost 10,000 members strong, with over 400,000 articles!

Thanks to all of you who have contributed to FTR and helped build this killer poker community and poker strategy destination. Have a Happy Holiday Season and now go play some poker! Cuz making money is fun.
