Niki KaiBuxxe Jedlicka
Niki Jedlicka or Nikolaus Jedlicka as he is called in his native residence in Vienna is a formidable force in the online poker community. And his start into this exciting game can also be called a by chance event. He was introduced to poker by his older brother and friends just few years back. Soon he developed a liking for the game and realised he had a flair for it too. From a hobby activity to a career, KaiBuxxe (as he is called online) now is a threatening force in the online poker world and other tournaments.
Niki turned to the professional poker world in 2005 after mastering ‘Magic: The Gathering’. Though he started playing Limit Hold’em but he soon realised that his real calling was in Pot limit Omaha. Not one to be afraid of anything, this young poker player has a distinct playing style of his own. Fearless and bold, Niki creates an audience for himself whenever he plays physically.
With his aggressive playing technique, Niki was playing the $300/$600 games within a year of his switching to the online version where he plays as KaiBuxxe. With a consistent winning streak he made himself the reputation of being one of the best online players. In 2007 he was Full Tilt’s biggest PLO winner grossing over $3 million in 12 months. This came in the light of defeating big players like Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey. In fact, it would be fair to say that 2007 saw his rise to the pinnacle of glory.
But this is one player who cannot be satisfied with just online exploits and he soon discovered his likeness for tournaments. His biggest offline success includes winning the Austrian Masters main event in 2007 and taking home more than $90K. In the same year he participated in the EPT Barcelona and finished 7th fetching himself $211, 480. This success came in the € 7.7 K No Limit Hold’em.
His excellent winnings also got him a nomination for the ‘Rookie of the year’ at the European Poker Awards. He lost to Annette Obrestad but if the award was judged only on the basis of maximum profits then Niki would’ve been a cinch in. he also came in 3rd at the Poker Royal Masters in the € 10,000 No Limit Hold’em event in 2007 end. Recently at the Aussie Millions in 2008 he finished at the 5th spot. His live earnings till date exceed $ 480,000 and counting.
A foodie, Niki is a total movie fan and loves to relax at home in Vienna when he’s taking a break from poker. Now he plays regularly for Full tilt and is a star member of their squad. Niki is known amongst fellow players as the cool customer who shows his aggression with his style of play.
He is known to astonish opponents when he practises little or no bankroll. Niki is famous for practising very poor or no bank roll management so one might see him lose $500,000 in one hand but then with his great play, he jumps back to win another $750,000 hand. His style of playing always sees a massive swing in his fortune. This has seen him be a millionaire one moment broke the next. But that doesn’t stop him from being the great poker player that he is. He has also played by the name Real AndyBeal for Pokerstars.
