Nick Schulman
Did you know that Nick Schulman has a nickname called “The Takeover” because he practically takes over every poker game that he plays to come out a winner? Some of the other screen names that he goes by online are Uzbekistan and nschulman23 at various online poker sties. This young man who originally from Manhattan, New York is really taking the poker world by storm.
Starting his poker career at a young age of 17, he turned into a pro just when he was hardly 19 years of age. By the time he was 21 he had already won at the World Poker Tour of 2005. When Nick Schulman first started playing poker at 17, he began sharpening his skills at the game by playing online. Playing online poker helped him to gather lots of information on how he could sharpen his gaming skills. This also helped to formulate his very own strategies, which would eventually lead him to become the youngest player to win at a WPT event.
A couple of years of playing online and posting winning results paved the way for him to get a seat to play online at tournaments. In addition, these lead him to play the WPT 2005 World Poker Finals where he confronted around 780 players in his first live tournament.
It was a matter of just three months soon after his 21st birthday that he won the $10K No- Limit Hold’em event and went on to create history by being the youngest player ever to win a WPT wining over $2.1 million in winnings. What a feat! A month after this incredible feat he managed a 4th finish win at the World Series of Poker Circuit Event which was held in Atlantic City. In 2006, he won the WPT Battle of Champions IV event where he defeated champion Freddy Deeb. He cashed in close to $25,000 at this tournament. Just prior to that he had taken a 4th spot in the $ 9,700 Championship Event - No Limit Hold'em of the 2005 WSOP Tournament Circuit held at Atlantic city cashing in close to $75,000.
After the WPT event of 2005 he has made has made a couple of cashes in various tournaments including 5 WSOP events. In November 2007 in Foxwoods where he played at the WPT $10K No Limit Hold’em event he managed to get himself the second place after having defeated nearly 575 competitors with an earnings of $860,000. Since that time, Nick has cashed in multiple tournaments, including many WSOP events.
Nick Schulman plays online poker at two poker websites called Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet using an online screen name “The Takeover”. He currently has total winnings of over $3.3 million as tournament earnings. Nick also plays poker at Full Tilt Poker where you can see him playing online many a times. Now at 24 years he has already established himself a name in the poker arena as a formidable player and presents a challenge to other poker players. Being young and versatile with many more years to sharpen his gaming skills, Nick Schulman is all set to create many more world records at not only winnings but also in total earnings.
At such a young age, Nick has to his credit a professional record that many players twice his age still only aspire to. Given his performances to date, it appears that this record is only going to improve. David John who is also a professional poker player is his roommate and the duo is often referred to as Bert and Ernie at Full Tilt. He is working hard to win himself a bracelet at the WSOP tournaments to be held in the coming years.
