For a long time, Jeff Lisandro has been considered one of the finest cash game players in the world. Like many other ring game specialists he did not receive the media coverage afforded to his tournament counterparts, but the 2009 WSOP changed all that. Jeff won his first WSOP bracelet in 2007 in the $2,000 Seven Card Stud event. He battled through a final table including the likes of Daniel Negreanu to capture the tournament glory that had eluded him for so long. He almost added a second that same year, finishing a narrow second to Allen Cunningham in the World Championship Pot Limit Omaha event.

Two years later he would return to the Rio to begin one of the most all-conquering runs in World Series history. He began his bracelet haul with the $1,500 Seven Card Stud event, taking down first place for $124,975.
