Happy 2007, FTR! Last month marked the 3-year anniversary of our FTR Poker Forum and the new year has us thinking about how lucky we are to have such a fantastic group of like-minded poker players. We are determined to make this our best year ever and have lots of great things planned for you, our FTR community. Here are some highlights of upcoming events.
Our Chat Room has been quite active lately, with many of our forum veterans hanging out there regularly. euphoricism, Renton, HalvSame, Trainer_jyms, Pelion and Jager are just some of the people that you'll find chatting about poker or whatever else is on their minds.
Also, we are resuming our popular series of Guest Chat Sessions. Past guests have included Andy Bloch, Phil Gordon and our own Fnord! We'll soon be doing more live chat interviews with poker pros as well as FTR personalities, so keep an eye out for announcements in the FTR Community forum.
We are kicking off our third featured book selection, No Limit Hold 'em: Theory and Practice by Sklansky and Miller, in our FTR Book Club on the week of Monday, January 8th! Previous selections have included Harrington on Hold 'em: Volumes 1 and 2. If you haven't joined in on these guided discussions before, don't miss out this time around! The FTR Book Club is a fantastic and engaging way to gain added insight on the topics covered in popular books with your fellow FTR poker players. And NLHE Theory and Practice is fast becoming one of the most highly-acclaimed books among no-limit hold'em players.

We are pleased to announce that Absolute Poker is sponsoring a series of freerolls exclusively for FTR! These are no-limit hold'em private tournaments for FTR members with a prize pool of $750 each. The first one takes place on January 15th at 10:00pm ET. Instructions for registering will be posted in our Exclusive Offers and Bonuses forum, so stay tuned. Finally, Season V of our poker league, the FTR Gauntlet, is just around the corner! Since this league started, each season has been bigger than the last, with more players and bigger prize pools, and this season promises to be the biggest ever. Throughout the season, there will be bonus prizes of cash and FTR gear and the top 10 finishers in the league are invited to a special post-season Tournament Of Champions. Of course, it's the coveted FTR Gauntlet Trophy that everyone wants and you'll have to play your very best to earn it. FTR Gauntlet V will begin in February, so watch for announcements in our FTR Gauntlet forum.
The league takes place at PokerStars, so if you don't have it, you can download it by clicking here. You can register now to play in this league on the Gauntlet Registration page. If you registered last season, and your PokerStars name has not changed, you do not need to register again.
