Hevad Khan, born in 1985, is a professional poker player based in Poughkeepsie, New York. He is perhaps best known for his antics during the 2007 WSOP Main event which resulted in the direct implementation of what is now known as the “Hevad Khan Rule”, for having played an unbelievable amount of tables simultaneously on a small computer screen, and also for having won numerous live poker events with the most recent being the 2009 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure side event held in the Bahamas.

Hevad’s journey started not unlike many online professionals. He started to play professional StarCraft, which apparently is a very big sport overseas, at the age of 13. Khan was also very active in trading of cards, from baseball to magick. According to Khan, the act of trading for the expectation to get a card which was worth much more than the one he would have to give up for it taught him gambling from a very young age.

It did not take long for him to pursue online poker as more than a hobby, and he dropped out of school in order to do so. Khan would then take his skills he developed while playing competitive StarCraft. StarCraft is a game in which you would need remarkable speed of reaction and quickness of thought in order to prevail. Not very unlike massive multitabling of poker. And this was just what Hevad did.

In fact, Kahn’s multitabling was so legendary he was forced to let his roommate record a video of him playing 28 tables of sit-n-goes simultaneously on PokerStars in order to prove he was not a bot. This video then became the stuff of legends in the online poker world.

But Khan’s rise out of notoriety came at the 2007 WSOP Main Event, in which he would perform oddball dances and warcries (BULLDOOOOOZZZEEEEEEEER!!!!!!!!!!) for every hand he would win. These would also become legendary in the poker circles, and caused so much outrage and entertainment simultaneously at the event that in future iterations the organizers instated what would later be called the Hevad Kahn Rule, which would specifically prohibit outlandish celebrations. Khan would go on with a very strong performance, and finished in 6th place for a very impressive $956,243. Definitely not bad for a 22-year old.

But Khan did not stop there. At the 2008 Foxwoods Poker Classic, Khan won the $1,850 No Limit Hold'em event, earning $108,187 in the process. Khan had to beat none other than 2006 WSOP ME 3rd place finisher Michael Binger to accomplish this feat. At the 2008 Caesar’s Palace Classic, Khan would go on to win the $10,000 NLHE Event for a whopping $1,000,000. In January of 2009, Khan would win the prestigious and popular $2,000 buy-in PokerStars Caribbean Adventure side event for $200,000. Khan has also won the PokerStars Sunday Warmup event on PokerStars.com in March of 2008, good for about $95,000. Khan is also a member of the prestigious Team PokerStars, alongside among others Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker, Vanessa Rousso and Johnny Lodden.

As of 2009, his live tournament winnings exceed $2,000,000.

Hevad Khan is known for his exuberant personality and charisma. Some love his style, but others hate his style with a passion. One thing remains clear: Khan knows what he’s doing when he is on a poker table, and will dance away once he’s done with you.

Common Misspellings: Hevad Kahn, Hevad Kohn, Heved Kahn, Hevod Kohn
