The initial download for Doyle’s Room is 10.6 MB and can take awhile. After downloading what was supposed to be the new and updated software, when I tried to open it on my computer it opened a page for a link to download the new and updated software. So, after I did this, I had two Doyle's Room icons on my desktop and only one worked. After downloading the second updated version the installation went quickly.
Doyle’s Room is compatible with all standard PC versions of Microsoft Windows from Windows 2000 onward (excluding Windows NT 4.0). Also, the Doyle’s Room team claims to have run the software on old/slow computers successfully, so you shouldn’t worry about performance problems.
The software itself is basic in its look and operation. It is easy to use right off the bat and runs quickly and smoothly. The tables within the lobby are divided up nicely into categories and subcategories, which make it easy to find the specific game that you are looking for.
Once you are sitting at the table, the interface is very intuitive and easy to use. It offers both a bet slider and buttons that raise certain fractions of the pot. Also, they offer an instant hand history reviewer which allows you to cycle through past hands and see how they played out.
