We were grateful to be joined by Daniel Negreanu in our poker forum where he logged in and did an FTR AMA (Ask Me Anything). If you weren't able to tune in live, you can relive the thread in our forum or check out our full summary with all the questions Negreanu answered. Thanks again, Daniel!

How do you feel an online series like the WCOOP compares to a live series such as WPT or WSOP? Which do you prefer to play?
Well, if you asked me a year ago I would have said live tournaments, but I've recent fallen in love with the comfort, convenience, and efficiency of online poker. No misdeals, no mistakes, and since I've gotten a bit better at it I much prefer it.

Do you make any changes in your game when approaching a WCOOP event compared to any other online MTT?
Yes, I definitely take WCOOP more seriously the last two years by doing research on my opponents, etc.

Other than the Main Event, what individual WCOOP tournament would you like to win the most? Why?
The $10,000 8-game event is my favorite event, I cashed in it the last two years in a row and would like to get that win this year.

If you were suddenly in charge of running the WCOOP what changes would you make to improve the series?
I can't think of anything I would change really, it's very well done.

What's your guess for the final number of runners in the WCOOP Main Event? Do you feel it will shatter the 1,000 player mark?
    I have absolutely no clue!

What type of playing environment do you maintain while playing poker online? Do you approach your online play as work, for instance, and dedicate part of your home to working on your craft without distraction? Do you adjust your environment when the stakes or prize pools are larger than usual?
I am MOST comfortable lying down on the job so I stay in bed and play on a laptop. It's long hours and comfort is key. I don't like sitting ever.

Whenever online poker becomes a reality in the US, do you think there will be another boom?
I would imagine so yes, since its likely that advertising restrictions would also be limited.

Which one skill or technique do you think you possess over your standard opposition?
I think understanding flow and how and when to mix up my game. Call it an internal random number generator.

What do you do when not playing poker? What are your favorite hobbies to take your mind off of the game?
    Golf.

    Favorite movie? TV Show?
Remember the Titans, Good Will Hunting, American History X for movies. For shows Curb Your Enthusiasm and Sopranos, I also watch a lot of reality TV

What is your favorite city to visit?
    Barcelona.

Would you rather play HU live or online against Isildur?
I really enjoyed the online battle 4-tabling. Even though that's his comfort zone, I would rather play online because it's much faster.

Since your absence from 2p2 and the latest shenanigans there do you post mainly on Full Contact Poker now? Or where can the fans find you? (Also please feel free to stop by FlopTurnRiver.com sometime ;))
I post most of my thoughts on twitter or my youtube channel, but if I'm posting in forums it would be FCP yes.

Daniel Negreanu is one of the best poker players in the world. Negreanu was the 2004 poker player of the year according to ESPN, The World Poker Tour and Card Player Magazine. Having 3 WSOP bracelets, Negreanu knows how to win the big tournaments.

One thing that sets Daniel Negreanu apart is his poker challenge. He is willing to play anyone in the world and he lets the challenger choose the game (from a list of 9 variations of poker). Negreanu has a lot of guts to open himself up for this challenge. For example, he has faced Barry Greenstein (a well known high stakes guru) 4 times for $500,000 each time. I respect Negreanu for putting his money where his mouth is.

Poker has opened many doors for Daniel Negreanu. Look for Daniel in "Lucky You", a film about poker set to come out in 2006. How cool would it be to have your own xbox game? Stacked with Daniel Negreanu game is out on xbox so Daniel knows the answer. Negreanu is also an excellent write, he has written countless articles for Card Player Magazine.
