Absolute Poker is exactly one-half of the third largest poker network still accepting American players, and the sixth largest poker network overall - The CEREUS Poker Network. They continue to attract players from around the world and are known as a site filled with poor players - great for the few good players who clean up on all the fish.
Absolute Poker has also teamed up with FlopTurnRiver.com to offer new players an even more generous bonus than they normally offer. Through FTR you will not only receive a 100% bonus up to $500, but you will also gain access to two money-added events. These events are exclusive to players who sign-up using the Absolute Poker Referral Code AP500. The first event is a $100, password protected FTR freeroll. The second event is a $5 buy-in tournament with $300 added to the prize pool. This is a great opportunity for an influx of free cash into your account on a monthly basis. Unlike other 1st deposit money-added tournaments, the FTR tournaments can be played every month - not just once.
Earning your bonus money is simple at Absolute Poker. All you need to do is play on real money tables to earn Status Points. Status Points not only help you clear your bonus, but also affect your Fame Status Level. The higher your Fame Status Level the more rewards you receive and the easier it is to clear bonuses.
There are 5 Fame Status Levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum VIP, and Diamond Elite - each more rewarding than the one before. In terms of clearing bonuses, however, the first three are all the same. Bronze, Silver and Gold all require that you earn 20 Status Points per $1 in bonus money, while Platinum VIP players only require 18 Points and Diamond Elite players only need to earn 17 for each Bonus $1.
Earning Fame Status Points is both simple and complicated at the same time. It is simple because all you need to do is play in real money ring-games, tournaments and Sit&Gos to earn points. It is somewhat complicated because how many points you earn in ring-games is based both on the level you play and the number of raked hands played. Tournaments (including Sit&Gos)are quite a bit simpler so let's start there.
A players earns 1 Status Point for every $.30 paid in entry fees. So for instance a $3 + $.30 tournament will earn a player 1 Status Point. Fractions of a point are also carried over to the next tournament buy-in. For instance a $10 + $1 tournament earns you 3 Status Points (3 x $.30 = $.90) with the remaining $.10 being carried over to your next tournament.
Ring games take into account the limit as well as the amount of raked hands that you play. They define a raked hand as "any hand where rake is collected and the player contributes to the pot."
For Limit games, at $.01/$.02 and $.02/$.04, 1 Point is earned for every 20 raked hands. At $.05/$.10 and $.10/$.20 limit, 1 Status Point is earned for every 15 hands. It only takes 10 hands to earn 1 Point at $.25/$.50 and only 5 raked hands at $.50/$1. Players at $1/$2 earn 1 Point for every 2 hands that are raked and the ratio is 1 Point to 1 raked hand at $2/$4. At $3/$6 it bumps up to receiving 1.5 Status Points for each hand and above that players earn 2 Status Points for every raked hand.
Players at No-Limit and Pot-Limit games have a similar situation in that they have to consider the level played and the number of raked hands. For $.01/$.02 it takes 15 hands to earn 1 Status Point. It takes 10 hands to earn 1 Point at $.02/$.04 and $.05/$10 while at $.10/$.25 that cuts in half to only needing 5 hands for 1 Point. $.25/$.50 players need to play 3 raked hands to earn 1 point and $.50/$1 grinders need 2 hands per Point. Once you move up to $1/$2 the payout is 1-to-1 and from $2/$4 through $5/$10 they give you 1.5 Status Points per raked hand played. Above that level, from $10/$20 NL and above, players will earn 2 Points for every raked hand they play.
Absolute allows 60 days from the first deposit in order to clear the 100% bonus up to $500. Bonus dollars are transferred every time you earn $5, so you need 100 Status Points to clear each $5 (at Bronze, Silver, and Gold). So to earn the full $500, you would need 10,000 Status Points within 60 days. It would probably take about 90,000 hands to clear this bonus at $50 NL, which is quite the grind, but definitely doable.
Just don't forget to use the Absolute Poker Referral Code AP500. This will ensure that you not only get a 100% match up to $500, but that you really maximize your bonus and take advantage of the free money in exclusive tournaments that are available each and every month at Absolute Poker - only available through FlopTurnRiver.
