Matthew Marafioti aka ADZ124 is one of the most polarizing figures in online poker today. One of the best high-stakes cash game grinders on PokerStars is never afraid of telling his opponents what he thinks of them. While most let their play do the talking, Marafioti’s play, and his words, show his opponent whose best. Over the past years ADZ124 has been crushing high-stakes on PokerStars, playing all the way up to $200/$400 NL.
Off the felt ADZ124 is quite the character as well. At the 2009 WSOP Main Event he and fellow high-stakes professional Tom “Durrrr” Dwan made a prop bet that would have had most players sick to their stomachs. Marafioti bet Dwan $5,000 that he could down 10 shots of Tequila in under 15 minutes with out “losing his lunch”. While most will never know the outcome, one thing is for sure, ADZ124 was escorted out of the poker room for unruly behavior, all the while being one of the chip leaders after Day 1.
